DancehallMag is the leading independent publication covering Dancehall and Reggae music, the artists, and culture since 2019.

Roy “Gramps” Morgan is a Jamaican-American singer-songwriter, producer, and genuine reggae royalty. Born to the late reggae icon Denroy Morgan, Gramps first made his mark in 1994 as a founding member, keyboardist, and core vocalist of the Grammy Award-winning family band Morgan Heritage.

Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has seamlessly balanced massive global tours with his siblings and the steady growth of his standalone catalog, cementing his legacy as a central heavyweight in modern roots reggae.

Gramps Morgan is trading the massive stadium stages he shares with Buju Banton and Stephen Marley for tight, sweat-soaked UK club rooms this August. He just announced his first-ever solo UK run with a full backing band, a sharp left turn for an artist who usually plays to tens of thousands

The contrast is genuinely jarring if you look at his summer itinerary. Throughout June and July 2026, he is rolling through major US markets like Dallas, Chicago, and Boston as a special guest on a colossal reggae package tour.

But by August 6, he touches down at Manchester’s Band on the Wall, stripping away the arena spectacle entirely. He follows that with stops at the O2 Institute2 in Birmingham and Leicester’s 2Funky Music Cafe.
