Incarcerated Dancehall star Vybz Kartel says he doesn’t want any more nude photos from female fans.  On Sunday, the Freaky Gyal deejay, who is serving a life sentence for murder, took to his Instagram Stories to tell one individual, who had been sending him naked pictures of herself on Instagram, to cease and desist.

He quoted rapper Jay-Z’s 2011 single 99 Problems to emphasize that he’s not lacking such pleasures, despite being incarcerated since September 2011.  “Sexy body & ntn else? My girl go d.m. another Artiste. Me ave 99 problems but pu$$y a no one,” Kartel wrote.

In the other post that followed, the verified account said that Kartel, 46, would rather a female from the UK’s Privy Council — Jamaica’s final court of appeal, also known as the Judicial Committee of Privy Council (JCPC) — to send him a photo of her identification.

He continued, “Doh? [name removed] me no wah no more pu–y pic, me want a girl weh @ privy council … send me you i.d. pic,” with two laughing emojis.

Kartel’s 2014 conviction was largely upheld by the Jamaica Court of Appeal when they delivered their decision in April 2020.  However, in September 2020, the court granted Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Azim Palmer, permission to have his case heard by the JCPC.

The Privy Council appeal will reportedly be heard this year.  Isat Buchanan, attorney-at-law representing the Dancehall deejay, had said that “I’m very happy and optimistic about being before the Privy Council. It is the final court, and justice is for all.”

As it relates to his latest posts, it remains a topic of discussion as to whether Kartel has access to cellphones, which are considered contraband in Jamaican prisons. While he maintains an active presence on social media, it appears that, for the most part, his accounts are being handled by a designate from his team.

But, several incidents have left many to believe otherwise.

In addition to a steady stream of new music and albums, Kartel allegedly appeared on an IG Live session with music producer Rvssian in 2020, when he called in to sing a few lines from his song Tun Up Di Scheme.  Last August, there was an exclusive FOX5 New York phone interview, which reportedly led to a multi-agency investigation.  There’s been no word on that since.

Buchanan later told DancehallMag that the FOX interview had been conducted before Kartel was transferred from the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre to the Horizon Remand Centre in Kingston.  The transfer was reportedly part of the government’s plans to move high-value criminals to the 24 newly constructed cells, which were designed to curtail access to cellphones.

“I don’t understand all this hype about a probe, it’s ridiculous, the interview predates his movement from Spanish Town to Horizon (Remand),” Buchanan said. “This argument about a probe is ridiculous.”

Nonetheless, the Fever deejay continues share the impact that his music has on fans far and wide. There is a plethora of videos of his Instagram page of half-naked girls across the globe dancing to his provocative songs.
