Morgan Heritage aren’t just asking fans to pre-save their new single. They’re asking students to tag their universities.
The reggae family band opened pre-orders and pre-saves for “Right Now” with a post that reads more like a rallying cry than a release announcement.
“The world is speaking up RIGHT NOW!” the group wrote, before turning straight to campuses: “Students worldwide are making their voices heard RIGHT NOW! Tag your university and let’s make some noise RIGHT NOW!” The pre-order and pre-save link sat right underneath.
The hashtags show where the band’s head is at. Alongside #RIGHTNOW and #MorganHeritage, the post tagged #France, #Albania and #Germany. It also carried #MojoMorgan, pointing to Mr. Mojo’s role in the rollout.
The post doesn’t say what the song is about or what students are speaking up for. That leaves two readings. One sees the song as a message track meant to plug into youth movements already underway.
The other sees a social-first rollout built for shares, with the university tagging working as a way to get the track passed around campus group chats.
Both readings can be true. Morgan Heritage have long mixed conscious roots messaging with a sharp sense of how to reach an audience.
Strictly Roots won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2016 and showed they could keep a socially minded sound in front of new listeners.
The release also arrives during a heavy stretch for the family. Patriarch Denroy Morgan, whose children formed the group, died in 2023. Peetah Morgan, one of the band’s lead voices, died in February 2024.
Every new Morgan Heritage release now carries that history whether the band names it or not. The upbeat, outward tone of the “Right Now” announcement feels like a choice to look forward and talk to a younger generation.

The European tags are interesting too. Morgan Heritage have built a loyal following well outside Jamaica and the U.S. Calling out France, Germany and Albania by name suggests the group sees those listeners as central to this release, not as an afterthought.
For now, the details are still thin. There’s no word in the announcement on the release date, the producers, or whether “Right Now” is a standalone single or part of a bigger project.
What the band has made clear is how it wants the song to spread. It wants students posting, tagging and making noise.
Whether that call becomes a real campus moment or stays a clever pre-save push depends on how many people take the band up on it once the track drops.
