Fans in Accra heard M.anifest’s new single before anyone else did. He previewed ROAD RAGE, his collaboration with Black Sherif, live on stage at his Nowhere Cool at 10 anniversary concert on Saturday. The next day he took to X to announce when everyone else could hear it.

The track is out now via Mass Appeal and Singitdamnit Music. It puts two generations of Ghanaian rap on the same record, and that pairing is the whole point.

The concert itself celebrated M.anifest’s 2016 album Nowhere Cool, which turned ten this year. He didn’t do it alone, either. Worlasi, Samini, Kwabena Kwabena, Ko-Jo Cue and Cina Soul all joined him on the night.

Dropping a brand new song in the middle of an anniversary show is a smart move. It tells the crowd he’s not just looking back at a decade old project, he’s still building.

For an artist with that much history, putting the past and the present on the same stage feels deliberate.

On the record, the road trip is the metaphor. ROAD RAGE uses the journey as an allegory for life, digging into ambition, personal drive and the resilience it takes to keep going when obstacles pile up.

That theme fits both artists in different ways. M.anifest brings the sharp lyricism he has refined over a long career in Ghanaian hip hop.

Black Sherif brings the emotionally charged delivery that made him one of the most talked about voices of his generation.

The contrast is where the song gets interesting. One rapper is writing from years of experience, the other from the rush of a career that took off fast. Put together, the record plays like two people describing the same journey from different seats in the car.

Black Sherif’s rise has been quick. He broke through in March 2022 with Kwaku the Traveller, a song that hit number one in both Ghana and Nigeria, and he hasn’t really left the spotlight since. This feature adds to what has already been a big year for him.

For M.anifest, bringing Black Sherif on board connects his catalogue to a younger audience who may have discovered Ghanaian rap through the newer star first. For Black Sherif, standing beside a veteran of the scene adds weight and lineage to his own story.

The live preview in Accra gave fans a first taste, and now the full version is out in the world. How the track lands with listeners on both sides of that generational line is the next thing to watch.
