Jamaican national Jahreme “J-Man” Shelton, an alleged associate of dancehall artiste Squash, is scheduled to stand trial before a Broward County jury on November 9, 2026, in connection with a fatal double shooting that claimed the lives of two men nearly four years ago.
Shelton is facing multiple felony charges arising from the October 19, 2022, killings of Dwayne Francis and Jeff Murray, who were shot outside a condominium complex in Lauderhill, Florida.
According to court records, Shelton has pleaded not guilty to the charges and remains in custody without bond at the Broward Main Jail as he awaits trial.
Prosecutors allege that Shelton was involved in the deadly shooting that left Francis and Murray dead outside the residential complex. Authorities have maintained that the attack was targeted, although details surrounding the prosecution’s evidence are expected to emerge during the trial.
The case has drawn attention in both Jamaica and South Florida because of Shelton’s reported association with dancehall entertainer Squash, whose own legal troubles in the United States have generated widespread public interest.
