After releasing an album with other veteran reggae artists, Anthony Red Rose says the project has come at a time where reggae lovers all over the world were yearning for fresh music.

“Authentic reggae music has seen a surge in streams during the current world climate. Fans are wanting more and more of what they’ve come to love so it was the perfect time to release this compilation,” he said.

The 13 track album titled Singer’s Anthem was produced by the artist under Raggedy Joe Records, with Lawrence Gowdie of Gowdie Enterprise and officially released in October. It features Luciano, Hezron, Errol Dunkley, Hopeton Lindo and Anthony Malvo.

No stranger to the music game, Anthony Red Rose has had a career that started in the 1980s. He is known for classic hits such as Under Mi Fat Thing, Borderline, Tempo, Can’t Knock Me, and Worries Again.

He is also known in the reggae industry as a mentor and coach to many singers and deejays, guiding them to the next level with their natural-born talents, providing lessons on how to properly ride a riddim and lyrical mastery, among other skills.

In the 1990s, he began working as a producer together with Anthony Malvo setting up the How Yu Fi Say Dat label and working with artistes such as Beenie Man, Red Dragon and Simpleton.

So far, he is pleased with the success of his latest album.

“It has been doing amazing, I cannot complain. It has brought a lot of attention and I am just grateful,” Red Rose said during an interview with Dancehall Mag.

He also noted that his experimentation with other genres on this set makes it unique from everything else he’s ever worked on.

“It he’s a touch of Marvin Gay. I’ve never done anything like this before,” Red Rose said.
