Dancehall Artist Dovey Magnum Arrested In US, Taken Into Custody By ICE

Dancehall artist Dovey Magnum might be a no show at Purity’s All White weekend bash in Florida which is slated to kick off on Sunday (May 23).

Dovey Magnum, who was expected to headline the show alongside Dexta Daps, was arrested and detained by US immigration officials when they allegedly carried out a raid at a premises in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this week, according to unconfirmed reports.

Update: Dovey’s Manager has clarified some speculation around her detainment by ICE.

The Bawl Out artist was taken into custody for immigration violations and is being held at the Stewart Detention Center in Georgia, according to the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s (ICE) Online Detainee Locator.

Born Simsky Kimberly Harrison, Magnum is said to have been living in the United States for the past three years and had just recently changed management.

The singer’s latest body of work Respectfully is to hit digital platforms later this week.

Popular dancehall selector Foota Hype was detained by ICE for several months after he was taken into custody in December 2019. He was later released in April 2020.
