Popular Dancehall entertainers Wasp and Jahvillani are getting major props for the creative visuals for Time Bomb which Dancehall fans believe is the most creative, humorous nod to the art form in a year marked by tension and discomfort.

The video, which is directed by Icey Jace, opens with ZJ Sapphire setting the stage, breaking news style, for the arrival of a bomb squad to defuse a device planted on a female, Dancehall artist Daniiboo.

In the video, both entertainers Wasp and Jahvillani exchange savvy lyrics about who can defuse the ticking bomb. Wasp has an obvious penchant for theatrics and comes off sounding like an expert on the ‘explosives’, but Jahvillani is not quite as confident, in fact, he thinks Wasp “is insane” to even try to tackle such a tricky situation, saying: “no this not fit me, mi life it special/mi woulda rather spend time inna voicing session”.

The duo has crafted one of 2021’s most enjoyable efforts, a clear standout in the increasingly cinematic world of music videos. Fans have lauded Time Bomb’s creativity and called for a sequel and similar collaborations between Dancehall artists.

Wasp is elated because somehow he managed to pull off the year’s most humorous video, offering a brief respite from what’s been one hell of a 12 months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ninety percent of the fans say it is the most creative dancehall video of 2021, Daniiboo played a great role with the visuals,” Wasp told DancehallMag.

“We are challenging the artistes to be more creative with their videos and songs. Big up Jahvillani, there was great chemistry in the studio with him. He was humble, he drove come check me at the studio, he pulled up, big up Wild Side Government, and we wrote it together,” he said.

The song is produced by 26-year-old Maliko Foreman of Step to Dem Productions and the video has received over 100,000 views in one week. Wasp is already stepping things up, currently in promo mode for his just-released track Choices with G Whizz on Good Good Productions’ Self Trust Riddim, as well as his mixtape, The Oath.

Wasp also hit the top 10 trending list this week with a song – produced by Silver Birds Records – called Brighter Days which featured heavyweight artistes like Bounty Killer, Tommy Lee Sparta, Julian Marley, Jahvillani, Gyptian, Anthony B, Dre Island, Maestro Don, Kiprich, Turbulence,  Zj Liquid, Leaha, Saaje, and Mr. Pike.

“There’s a lot more creativity in store where this comes from,” he said.
