Things are looking up for the War Lord Bounty Killer this year with a new album on the way and now, equity in the Triller Network, which acquired Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz platform earlier this week.

The Dancehall veteran described the deal as a win for the genre, according to an interview in the Jamaica Gleaner.

“This is a great team up and a definite win for us as reggae music artistes to be included in an international deal such as this. I look forward to seeing where this partnership will take our music and the music business on a whole. I wish Swizz Beatz and Timbaland even greater success for the future with this new chapter of their business partnership which is unfolding,” he said.

Both Beenie Man and Bounty Killer stand to benefit from the lucrative deal with Triller Network, the parent company to Triller. They join over 40 other artists who now have a stake in the company.

The Benz and Bimma singer expressed his gratitude for being granted the opportunity to be a part of the Verzuz battle. He said he had “extreme appreciation to Verzuz for the opportunity to have performed on the platform and the extended reach that the platform has afforded him”.

The deal will help to strengthen the reach of Dancehall he continued, “this is the beginning of great things to come for Jamaican music, dancehall and reggae.”

It’s been almost 19 years since Bounty Killer dropped his last album Ghetto Dictionary, and a new one is on the way.  Since the announcement, he hasn’t revealed any major details except the name, Kings of Kingston, and the fact that Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley would serve as executive producer.

Now we have some more info to stoke fans’ excitement as he recently revealed via Instagram Live that Dancehall deejay and former Alliance protégé, Busy Signal, will be making an appearance on the LP.

The two artists previously collaborated on Do The Maths, Summm’ A Guh Gwaan, Nuh Weh Nuh Safe, and More Reasoning.

From the King Jammy’s Studio, Killer posted a short video clip of what that track will sound like and it’s fire.

“Bang Bung” seems to be the title and the hook on a 90s reminiscent beat in which Bounty Killer’s flow sounds impeccable. The clip is just about five minutes and the track is being played in the studio to much fanfare from those present.

He captioned the video, “Bang Bung!!! Busy x Bounty KingstonOfKingston.”

It seems like Bounty Killer is staying true to the promise he made in June 2020, when announcing that the project was on the way. He said that the album was “gonna be the real Dancehall” and that he would be reminding people “what Dancehall is”.

“Some people don’t remember what Dancehall is and what the real foundation is… so we gonna take them to the real hardcore,” he added.

This track is definitely in line with that.
