Dancehall songstress Jada Kingdom has taken on the #BussItChallenge, the new year’s first viral TikTok dance challenge.

The challenge first features TikTok creators, mainly females, in their day-to-day quarantine garb (think no makeup, bathrobes or sweatpants, and messy hair), before they transform to a glam look over an audio mashup of Nelly’s 2002 hit Hot In Herre and Erica Banks’ newly-minted hit Buss It.

In Jada’s challenge, which she re-shared on Twitter and Instagram today, she transitions from a hair cap and white bathrobe to a platinum blonde wig, by @kendrasboutique and @__kylegottfans, and a chic black bodysuit.

See’t yah!” she wrote in a caption on Instagram, delivering on her prior promise to fans who had requested that she get in on the latest TikTok trend with her famous Budum.

“Every body can pack up and go home now she won,” one user on Instagram reacted. “It’s the no effort for me honestly 🥺😩✨,” another added.

Celebrities such as Monica, Gabrielle Union, Tracee Ellis Ross, Iggy Azalea, Reginae Carter, Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star Joseline Hernandez have all jumped on the viral trend.

Erica Banks’ Buss It was first released in May 2020, but the song only took off on January 1, 2021 when TikTok creator @Erikadavila120 kicked off the #BussItChallenge on a video that now has 17 million views.

Now launched into stardom, the Texas rapper copped a new deal with Warner Records in partnership with 1501 Certified Entertainment, the label that is also home to Megan Thee Stallion, according to Complex.

She told Okayplayer, “Initially I didn’t like the song when it was completed so having it go viral wasn’t something I thought about like that. It’s a good feeling to see ‘Buss It’ go viral… It feels unreal yet exciting, I didn’t expect it to blow up so fast.”

Meanwhile, Jada Kingdom appears to be cooking up a new collab with American rapper Asian Doll.  Yesterday, the two singers shared what appeared to be photos from an upcoming music video.

Kingdom is best known for her booty-shaking singles Heavy!, Budum, and the Shake Remix with Skillibeng. Other hit records include Love Situations and WiN.
