Dancehall superstar Elephant Man should soon know his fate for allegedly breaching Section 8 of Jamaica’s Immigration Act when he next appears in court on November 17.

Elephant Man, whose real name is O’neal Bryan has already faced the court on two occasions, one in April which was done virtually, and the other in September. Anticipation is high that come November, things should be finalized.

The self-proclaimed ‘Energy God’ is currently facing this dilemma after failing to give a full account of all the countries he had visited following a tour of Europe earlier this year in March. Including in that tour were Germany and Italy, which had been placed on a caution list by Jamaica after a number of COVID-19 related deaths in those countries.

Initially, Elephant Man had denied any wrongdoing but subsequently, he changed his tune and sent out a video of him apologizing for the incident which he dubbed “a misunderstanding”.

“I really, really sincerely apologize to the workers at the Sangster’s International Airport, the Ministry of Health and the people of Jamaica. I also want to apologize for any misunderstanding in any way I incorrectly completed the form” he had said at the time.

‘Ele’ also blamed the long journey and him being sleepy as being the root cause of the issue. “After my long journey, I put the last country I arrived from as opposed to all the countries I attended in the last six weeks. Sorry for that, mi drop asleep, yuh dun know” he remarked.

If convicted, the Signal De Plane artiste could face a minimal fine of just a hundred Jamaican dollars. His attorney Christopher Townsend is said to be awaiting some video evidence to assist with some conflicting reports between the artiste and the authorities.

Fellow dancehall artiste Rygin King‘s name was called in the controversy but the How Mi Grow singer subsequently released a statement apologizing for his boisterous behavior at the time.
