Dancehall’s Warlord Bounty Killer came out in strong support of Masicka’s latest effort, an inspiring single titled Special. Killer, who apologized for some of the violent themes in his catalog back in April has since made a point of highlighting the players spreading positivity in the industry.

Though the Sufferer deejay, whose real name Rodney Price, was clearly moved by the track, things escalated quickly in Masicka’s Instagram comments on Friday over his defense of “good and sensible music”.

Masicka has been teasing his highly anticipated debut album 4.3.8, which so far has all the makings of a bonafide crowd-pleaser. Fresh off the premiere of his intense banger As God As My Witness, Masicka liberated Special, with its lush guitar intro leading into lyrical self affirmations.

“Aye doh mek nobody, doh mek nobody tell yuh you nuh special/ Get a trophy to how we dweet, yeah we want every medal/ Hold on pon mi metal, journey long doh give up, gwaan pedal/ Some ah dem heart dutty up waan Dettol/ Nuh mek dem kill yuh dream,” Masicka sings on the rich Bitcoin Riddim

Currently No. 2 on Youtube Trending in Jamaica, the upful track got props from the veteran, but the moment was marred by the back-and-forth between IG users and the Five Star General.

One Instagram user took Bounty’s remarks as a low-key Alkaline diss, continuing his condemnation of the Vendetta Boss following his Top Prize album debut.

“You act like you’re the creator of music, we don’t deny your greatness back in the days, but you try fi down play the yute like NUMBER DONT LIE,” they accused the Stoplight deejay.

Bounty didn’t confirm or deny his initial intent but instead hit back with a sharp rebuff. “Yeah bcuz u know fi dem music has no meaning or substance it ‘d seem the comment direct at dem so tell yu tiki tiki fish fren fi go mek good music Mr Faggotti.”

He continued, “This is fi unuh tiki tiki problem now we like music with meaning how that offends u we not telling u to like sensible music so why u had a problem with what we like though unuh love man?” he said.

What started off as good vibes quickly got ugly, but Bounty wouldn’t be seen backing down. When another fan asked “so y all this under sicka post weh outta the mix lool”, he replied “Dawg and dawg a reason then pussycat, rat and fish jumped in,” with many laughing emojis.

Bounty Killer also has an album on the way, his first in nineteen years called King of Kingston, but has ironically spent the year at odds with social media fans and followers.

In March, he was berated online over the ballistic anthem Gun Ready featuring Machine Lawd, which dropped mere weeks after he decried gun violence. At the time, the Change Like The Weather hitmaker was firm and strong with his defensive clapback to a curious fan.

“Gun show still a mek so why gun song shouldn’t?”, Bounty Killer said.
