Megan Thee Stallion says she still isn’t eating the way she should. That’s the kind of detail most stars would quietly keep to themselves, but the Houston rapper put it on the table while talking to Marie Claire about life after her breakup with NBA player Klay Thompson.
The pair split in April after roughly a year of dating, and Megan described the ending as sudden. She called it “so abrupt” and admitted she’s still “in shock.”
“I’m not pretending I’m 100 percent okay,” she said. “I ain’t never been through nothing like that in my whole life.”
She kept going, making it clear this one hit harder than anything before it. “I’ve never, ever, ever been in a relationship like that, ever,” she said. “So I’m definitely not worried about another one for a long time.”
The most revealing part of the conversation was how she described the relationship from the inside. “When something is meant for you, it’s gonna be easy.
It’s gonna be right. It’s not gonna feel like a panic all the time,” the three-time Grammy winner explained.
She said that sense of panic was her normal for a while. “I feel like that’s what I was in, constantly on edge. My nervous system needed to calm down,” she told the magazine, before adding that she’s “feeling all the feelings” and isn’t “trying to take no shortcuts.”

There’s a second side to how Megan is talking about this, and it’s a lot less fragile. In an earlier conversation with InStyle, she said the relationship was “very rough” despite whatever fans thought they were seeing, and she alleged that Thompson had cheated.
In that same interview she drew some firm lines for whoever comes next. “I’m not a person who is in the house 24-7. I’m never going to be that,” she said, adding that any partner will “have to just understand, like, she is her own person. She’s her own boss. I cannot be minimized.”
“I will not be behind any man. I will have a partner. I will be equals with my partner,” she continued. She framed the whole thing as a lesson learned, saying she now knows “this is what I will tolerate, this is what I won’t tolerate,” and that anyone who can’t accept that will have to “respectfully go our separate ways.
Put the two interviews side by side and you get a pretty honest picture of a breakup in progress. One version of Megan is still rattled and not sleeping or eating right, while the other already knows exactly what she won’t accept again.

Thompson’s side of the story isn’t part of either conversation, and he isn’t quoted in the source coverage responding to the cheating allegation.
The four-time NBA champion built his name over a long run with the Golden State Warriors, and the relationship with Megan drew plenty of attention from both sports and rap fans while it lasted.
For now, Megan is focused on her own recovery rather than her next move. She’s been clear she’s not rushing into anything new, and she seems to mean it when she says there won’t be any shortcuts.
