The most surprising name on Quavo’s new tracklist might not be Future or Offset. It’s a song called “Baby Breath” that pulls Pharrell, Tyler, The Creator and A$AP Rocky onto the same record, and nobody saw that one coming.
After a summer of teasing, Quavo has finally locked in the title and date for his third studio album. Qrömelife” drops October 2, with Pharrell Williams serving as executive producer.
This is Quavo’s first full length project since “Rocket Power,” which arrived in 2023. That album landed less than a year after the death of his nephew and Migos groupmate Takeoff, and much of it carried the weight of that loss.
The rollout for “Qrömelife” started back in June with “Haavin,” a brash single produced by Pharrell himself. August brought “Trance (Walk It Down),” and now Quavo has added a third taste with “Backwards,” featuring T.I.
“Backwards” is about as Atlanta as a song can get. Quavo opens with “ATLA, ATL, Atlanta” and “Middle of the trap, you see a Phantom,” and the hometown references from both rappers never let up.
He keeps the energy going with lines like “All type of poles, more than Magic,” a clear nod to the city’s famous Magic City club. Having T.I. alongside him gives the track a sense of lineage, linking Quavo to one of the artists who put Atlanta rap on the map.
The album runs 14 songs, and the guest list pulls from several different corners. Future appears on “BA,” Lil Baby jumps on “Ball My Love,” and Yung Miami shows up on “HAOYU DEWDAT.
Then there’s “Away,” featuring Offset, which will draw plenty of attention on its own. The two surviving Migos members had a well documented rough patch before reuniting onstage to honor Takeoff at the 2023 BET Awards, so any new collaboration between them carries extra meaning for longtime fans.
The real curveball might be “House Music” featuring Justin Timberlake. Paired with Pharrell’s role at the top of the credits, it hints that Quavo is reaching well beyond the trap sound that made him famous.
That tension is what makes “Qrömelife” interesting on paper. One side of the tracklist is deeply rooted in Atlanta, with T.I., Future, Lil Baby and Offset holding it down, while the other leans toward pop and genre experiments shaped by Pharrell’s taste.
Fans who grew up on the Migos triplet flow may wonder how much of that DNA survives the Pharrell touch. Others will see the Tyler and Rocky pairing on “Baby Breath” as a sign Quavo wants to be taken seriously as more than a hitmaker.
With three singles out and 11 songs still under wraps, the full picture won’t come into focus until October 2. For now, the tracklist alone has people talking about which Quavo is going to show up.
