Lady Ann Vows To Never Bash Minister Marion Hall Again Following Reconciliation

Lady Ann, Marion Hall

After years of dragging Minister Marion Hall’s name through the mud, dancehall toaster Lady Ann has vowed never to utter an unpleasant word against her again.

This comes as the two reconciled at Groovin’ in the Park in New York on the weekend.

“As long as mi have life, I woulda never come pon the internet and seh nothing bad about this lady again…” Lady Ann said in a recent live stream.

The Informer deejay shared that her fallout with Hall, formerly Lady Saw, was born out of anger that she left secularity for Christendom in 2015.

“Mi did just mad with her fi leggo Dancehall, and as mi did a explain to her – cause mi and her stand up for a bit, a reason – mi a show her seh I’m kinda mad because mi know weh she go through. Mi know all her struggles dem cause mi know her long time before she buss… But hey, she seh she in a better place and she like the space weh she inna, and mi nuh think she do nothing wrong when she leggo Dancehall enuh cause it’s so corrupt fi true.”

In her Wednesday prayer session, Hall shared that she walked up to Lady Ann and sought permission for a hug.

“She grab me and hug me and pull me to her and tell me seh she love me,” Lady Ann confirmed. “She know mi love her still enuh, but mi did just mad wid her… I think what make me was rebelling so much on you, I missed you…”

Once maintaining a low profile, Lady Ann’s social media presence grew during the pandemic, with the artist airing her opinions on the day’s hot topics as well as her experiences in the music industry. The result has left a digital footprint of her labeling Hall “the obeah dolly”, accusing her of practising underhand acts to stifle the careers of her peers.

Lady Ann’s crucifying of Hall continued as she deemed her a troublemaker, throwing in names like Macka Diamond, Tanya Stephens, Spice and Tifa to argue her claim. Lady Ann has also attributed slackness by female dancehall entertainers to Hall.

With the past behind them, Lady Ann is among those singing Hall’s praises for an enthralling set at the festival on Saturday. Oohing and ahhing over her performance, Lady Ann described it as witnessing “Lady Saw inna Minister Hall body”, except she didn’t have to perform lewd material to engage patrons.

“She own her stage yesterday. She claim her craft yesterday seh she a ‘Queen of Dancehall’. She a dancehall giant. She a dancehall legend. She a dancehall champion. She a dancehall everything, now in a Christian world.”

The fiery Christian is being hailed left and right for her set at Groovin’ in the Park in New York on Saturday, which balanced the scripture with the spice she was beloved for as Lady Saw. Though she declared she has no interest in reclaiming her title as Queen of Dancehall, it was the fusing of elements from her former alias that made the performance stand out.

Her songs were clean and Christ-centered, but Hall threw punches at the witches and warlocks who have been attacking her online: “Mi nuh come yah so fi idle, Mi nuh come yah so fi dancehall title; Mi come yah so fi preach up the gospel; So tell a bleach-out duppy mi nuh frighten.”

The jury is still out on who the last line was aimed at, but Queen Ifrica, who has, in the past, been accused of skin-bleaching, found herself in an online dust-up with Hall some weeks ago. The shots continued to fire to the delight of patrons, but Hall said she wouldn’t let them compromise her salvation.

Lady Ann joked that she caught a stray, but that Hall executed in good taste.

“She did a clash inna her own way enuh, she know it too… She tek it to the whole a we inna her own way, inna her own style. The woman beat we wid her bible… The whole a we get a likkle spanking yesterday. She never call nuh name but we a nuh dummy.”

Lady Ann attended the event with Lady G, who was also captured with Hall, a longtime friend.
