Koffee Earns Fourth UK Chart Entry With Sam Smith’s ‘Gimme’; Popcaan, Drake Move Up With ‘We Caa Done’

Jamaican singer Koffee has earned her fourth UK Singles chart entry following the release of Gimme, a song by English singer Sam Smith which also featured Canadian singer Jesse Reyez.

The song, which was released on January 11, opened at No. 60 on the UK Singles chart, dated January 26, 2023.

Gimme has also debuted on the UK Hip-Hop/R&B Singles chart at No. 35.

Meanwhile, Popcaan and Drake‘s We Caa Done, which made its debut last week at No. 61, has moved up to the No. 50 position on the UK chart this week.

We Caa Done is also currently at No. 25 (up from No. 36) on the UK Hip-Hop/R&B Singles chart, and No. 11 (up from No. 15) on the UK Indie Singles chart.

The UK charts are compiled weekly by the Official Charts Company, based on official sales of downloads, CDs, vinyl, audio streams, and video streams.

Gimme was produced by Jamaican Anju Blaxx, Norwegian duo Stargate, and Jimmy Napes.  Its official music video, released on January 13, has so far picked up 1.6 million views on YouTube.

The song marks Koffee’s fourth entry on the UK Singles chart, following her feature on J Hus’ Repeat, which spent eight weeks on the chart in 2020, peaking at No. 8.

She had also entered the listing in 2019, with Toast which peaked at No. 70 and spent 17 weeks on the chart, and with W with rapper Gunna, which peaked at No. 82 and spent 7 weeks on the chart.

Her debut album Gifted had also peaked on the UK Albums chart at No. 9 in 2022.

Popcaan’s We Caa Done, which was produced by Congolese-born TRESOR and Batundi, currently has 4 million views on YouTube since its release on January 6.

The song marked his eighth entry on the UK chart. His previous entries were TWIST & TURN with Drake and PartyNextDoor, which spent six weeks on the chart and peaked at No. 69 in 2020, Melissa Steel’s Kisses for Breakfast, which peaked at No. 10 in 2014, Aluna George’s I’m In Control, which peaked at No. 39 in 2016, Naughty Boy and Kyla’s Should’ve Been Me, which peaked at No. 61 in 2016, Gorillaz’s Saturn Barz, which peaked at No. 87 in 2017, Fredo’s 2 Cups with Tory Lanez, which peaked at No. 55 in 2019, and Jorja Smith’s Come Over, which peaked at No. 35 in 2020.

Koffee’s Gifted is nominated for Best Reggae Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards in February, while Popcaan’s fifth studio album Great Is He is set for release on January 27.
