DJ Khaled Shares Visuals For ‘The Streets Know My Name’ With Skillibeng, Buju Banton, Capleton, Bounty Killer & Sizzla

DJ Khaled has released the official visuals for These Streets Knows My Name—the Dancehall track on the American producer’s 13th studio album God Did.

Featuring Reggae and Dancehall greats Capleton, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Bounty Killer and new age artist Skillibeng, the video was shot in hardcore parts of Kingston like August Town and Tivoli Gardens, and is undoubtedly an ode to Jamaica’s musical culture and beauty.  Khaled has been teasing the collab-heavy track since last June, when he visited Jamaica to secure the vocals and shoot the video.  The entire 18-track album was released on August 26.

Skillibeng takes the lead on this one with his staple gunplay lyrics. He, however, makes it look effortless as he smokes spliffs and enjoys the company of Khaled, and young children who made a cameo appearance in one scene.

For their part, Buju Banton and Capleton teamed up to deliver from the heart before branching off into individual verses. Their rustic, yet melodious voices complemented each other’s quite well.

The Fireman Capleton, who has been in the music business for years, definitely brought the heat to his verse; topping it off with high-energy kinesics.

The warlord Bounty Killer did not hold back either, and further proved how talented local deejays are and that tongue-twisting isn’t on the agenda when they hit the recording booth.

Sizzla was the cherry on top. His unmatched talent stood out, as he too, effortlessly recited his verse with his compatriots in the shot adding to the aesthetics of the production.

Khaled has previously collaborated with Buju Banton, Sizzla, Mavado and 070 Shake on the Holy Mountain (2019), which appeared on his 11th album, Father Of Asahd.  That project had also featured Buju on the final track, Holy Ground.

Grateful (2017), Khaled’s 10th album, had featured Sizzla on the opening track I’m So Grateful, and Mavado on the track Unchanging Love.

Mavado, who signed to Khaled’s We The Best Music Group in 2011, has appeared on several other albums by the producer, including Major Key (2016) on the final track Progress, I Changed A Lot (2015), on the track My League, Suffering from Success (2013) on the tracks Give It All Me with Nicki Minaj and on Weed & Hennessy, and Kiss The Ring (2012) on the track Suicidal Thoughts.
