Popcaan For Burna Boy’s New Album
Nigerian singer Burna Boy will release his sixth studio album Love Damini next Friday, July 8. In the meantime, he has unveiled the tracklist for the highly anticipated project which includes Jamaican superstar Popcaan.
Popcaan, who appears on the song T.A.S. off the 19-track collection, joins a mix of other international artists including Ed Sheeran, Victony, J Balvin, Blxst, J Hus, Kehlani, Ladysmith, and Black Mambazo.
Popcaan and Burna Boy are both set to perform at Afro Nation Portugal later today.
Love, Damini is the Afrobeat artist’s sixth body of work, which features the already released songs Last Last and Kilometer. The album comes 9 years after Burna’s debut album L.I.F.E, which was followed by On A Spaceship, Outside, the Grammy-nominated African Giant, and the Grammy-winning Twice as Tall.
After Twice as Tall won the ‘Best World Music Album’ at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in March 2021, expectations soared for the follow-up Love Damini. The album has had several delays since it was first announced last April. While the initial due date was set for July 1, it had changed to July 2 to commemorate Burna’s birthday but was instead confirmed by the Nigerian singer yesterday that it will drop at “Midnight 08/07 WAT”.
Burna’s revealed the Ed Sheeran collab, when the two previewed their song For My Hand during a performance at the Wembley Stadium on June 30.

Burna also previewed the album’s cover art, revealing the back cover was shot by Nigerian/American photographer Michael Oshai and the C.D. by Ronami Ogulu.
