Dancehall star Vybz Kartel has continued his social media streak on why he is a cut above the rest, in response to allegations by Shenseea and Masicka fans that he’s jealous of their recent Gold Certifications.

On Thursday (May 5), the incarcerated Worl’ Boss shared an Instagram post praising himself for a Gold Certification Plaque from the RIAA for his hit single, Fever which has sold over 500,000 units in the United States.

“Tbt #justTeacher #noFeature All now dem nuh go roun dis all dem a talk.. #BigBoysClub any other plaque a rotten teeth #fever,” Kartel wrote in a cheeky Instagram caption, pointing out that he did it with no features.

Many speculated that the throwback post of the two-year-old achievement was a bit too convenient, as it came only a week after Masicka re-shared his German Gold Plaque for Big Body Benz with rapper Bonez MC which sold 200,000 units in Germany, and the same week that Shenseea shared her Canadian Gold Plaque for Blessed with rapper Tyga, which sold 40,000 units in Canada.

Some overzealous fans were determined to call out the Nah Let Go deejay on the allegedly shady move, but in true Vybz Kartel fashion, he wasn’t having it. He took to his VybzKartelRadio YouTube channel to get a few things straight.

“Who dem seh Kartel badmind this week? 😅😅,” he asked rhetorically.

“Dem fool ya figat seh me Legacy is Phenomenal AF, four corners of the Earth pon every Continent?! Smh scapegoat unuh a look fi build unuh career? Go write timeless music and easy unuh bl–dclaat self. Whap whap whap inna unuh b-mboclaat!!!”

Kartel has collaborated with Masicka and Shenseea before on two hit songs, respectively. The ShenYeng princess rose to more prominence after the 2016 track Loodi, while Masicka and Vybz Kartel teamed up on Infrared in 2019.

Loodi was controversial after the Sociopath deejay accused Shenseea of stealing the song, twice.  Producer for the song Elvis Redwood of So Unique Records, however, cleared up those accusations after the first round of debate in 2017, and said that it was his decision to give Shenseea the track.
