Two of Dancehall’s breakout stars Rytikal and Jahshii are currently working on a joint EP, titled “Rytikal x Jahshii“, with the expected release date being July 7, 2022, which is the birthday of both artists.

Last year, after Rytikal and his team celebrated his 26th birthday at a private location in Kingston, they searched for an after-party celebration to cap the evening.

“It was at Ryti’s birthday last July, when we decided to attend Boom Sundays in Grants Pen (Jahshii’s community). After arriving, we realised it was Jahshii’s birthday as well.” Designer, Jae Epic, told DancehallMag.

“After that they decided they would do an EP together. They both have unreleased material done together that the world wanna hear, but right now Rytikal is focusing on Purytikal so it will be fresh, new recordings and everything.”

Released three days ago, Rytikal’s Man of The Moment serves as the first single from the upcoming EP, from Rytikal Music Group, (RMG) Dynasty Entertainment, Attomatic Records, and Hemton Music.  The soon-to-be father is walking his talk with the emotionally moving track, which has over 240,000 views on YouTube.

Rytikal, whose real name is Ryan McFarlane, is best known for his song Chosenwhich was released 8 months ago on the My Letter To You Riddim from Dynasty Records and DJ Mac.  His other songs include King Ina WarMy WorldCookie Jar, and Galaxy Brain.

Jahshii, whose real name is Mluleki Tafari Clarke, is currently in Guyana for his first show outside of Jamaica. He’s also riding high after a masterful performance on the Onstage TV platform on Saturday.  In the 12-minute performance, the 21-year-old deejay delivered a medley of his hit songs Cream of the Crop with Navaz, Keep Up25/8Born Fighter, Media, and an impassioned rendition of Fall Rain.

The joint EP follows Rytikal’s Out Break Mixtape, which was released under EastSyde Records in 2021, and Jahshii’s 7-track Keep Up EP in 2022.

Jae Epic, who is also the official designer for Rytikal and long-time friend, told DancehallMag that the artists are toying with the idea of 7 songs on the EP to possibly give it a “777” name and feel but have not finalised anything yet.  They are also considering having 21 tracks on the production to be released under Rytikal’s own label RMG.

“Things are still in the planning stage but just know that music is being recorded, collaborations with other artists and all a dat will be on it too,” the designer said.
