Cream of the Crop artist Jahshii took command of the future of authentic Jamaican music on Saturday night, in a masterful performance that left even his harshest critics crowning him a redeemer of Dancehall and his generation’s Prince of Reggae.

Ditching the Hip-Hop beats which have characterized most of his music, and complete with a full band, the 21-year-old went full Reggae/Dancehall, as he poured out his all in a stellar 12-minute performance on the Onstage platform, belting out a medley of his hit songs Cream of the Crop with Navaz, Keep Up, 25/8, Born Fighter and then Media.

But it was especially his impassioned rendition as he called on Jah-Jah to fall rain, that Jahshii commandeered the stage like a five-star General, earning scores of mature fans in the process, who say they ready to dole out the cash to go see him perform live.  Belting out the words of the songs, like a seasoned live performer with thousands of viewers in front of him, Jahshii took no prisoners.

At the end of his performance, the exuberant youngster sought approval from Onstage host Winford Williams.

“Remind you a Shabba dem.  A lie?  Remind you a Shabba dem man, inna dem time deh man, same way,” he asked, urging agreement.

Williams concurred and congratulated Jahshii like a father speaking to a son in whom he was well-pleased.

“Yeah man, born artiste,” Williams said.

A beaming Jahshii replied meekly, but happily: “Honours again man”.

Williams continued: “Yes, we see in you what is somewhat missing in your generation. The ability to deliver on a live stage bredrin… He came; he performed and he impressed.  Jahshii!” he said.

“You belong in music; stay focused in music. You belong bredrin. That’s my personal opinion… I will tell you.  I am very impressed with this youth and all he has to do now is to stay focused and take the world,” Williams said.

At the end of, and during the Excelsior High School past student’s performance, there were cheers from viewers, many of whom said they were riveted by his delivery and that he should be immediately billed to perform at Reggae Sumfest this July.

“Can’t deny this kid ability to perform, he’s going to flatten Sumfest!!!!” Deejay Prince said.

“Wow!! Jashii 🤩 a Reggae star is born, I’m an old schooler and I love ❤️ this performance 💯 I fought back the tears, I felt your pain, it was real and I am seeing the direction you are forging for the next generation of ghetto youths 👏👏👏 Good Job 🔥🔥🎵🎵🔥🔥🎵🎵🔥🔥,” maqudize@sunset said.

Others went on to say that the Grants Pen native was indeed the future of Dancehall, and that because of him, the genre seems as if it was no longer going to fall victim to what Bounty Killer had described as “Rat Trap music”.

“I see the fire in him Yoooo🔥🔥🔥🔥💥this kid is what dancehall need not the one dem weh a water down the thing. JAH!!!! Know star 🌟 may God keep blessing u yute one luv👆🏽.  Exceptional,” God Warrior said while Phillip Pennant added: “Jahshii is the best I have seen out of the new generation of dancehall artiste. “Yeah Man, Mi Nah lie, the Born Fighter Segment definitely cemented him as the Best Performer of the New Generation! 🔥🔥 Jah Know a My Song Dat & him Perform it Very Passionately! Jah Know Yute Congrats!” another commenter said.

“Jahshii is the new sound of Dancehall, its uncut without boundaries and not easy to accept when it gets mature,” Smugs Frano said.

As the commendations rained, others said that the  Trap artists whom they claim have been watering down Dancehall, have big shoes to fill as Jahshii had set the bar for stage performances very high above their heads.

“Longtime we crying. asking, begging for this from the younger new generation dancehall artist.  Question answers big up Jahshi,” Lloyd Distant said.

“God Dam Finally Finally Dancehall is Back But In A New Package Live Performance On Point 👉 Closest To Authentic Dancehall I’ve Heard In The Last 10 Years,” SeaninHDTV added.

Others said he was pleasing to the ears, singing on a reggae beat, it was evident that the Hip Hop beats have not been doing justice to his singing voice, and Jahshii’s vocals are suited for real Reggae/Dancehall.

“Youth u seh u sing u song them wid substance me believe u me can tell u every single person who watch this every single body feel the song born fighter emotions a run while a swear u put u all in a it fi this years he got the best onstage proformace keep up good work👍👍,” Reynaldo Lindo said.

“Man deliver a performance wha all now mi a feel it! Born fi dancehall Jahshii! Only you can stop you, coz God already send yu a road wid di talent.” Christopher Jones said.

They also hailed him as a dynamic stage performer and for taking the time to perform with a full band.

“Man Perform like Some of the Veterans. As a person who isn’t a big fan of Jahshii yet I Definitely have to Say he is setting himself to have some Good Performances! Bands looks like it’s going to Work Good for him & with the last couple of Stage Performances I’ve Seen From Him it mostly sounded like he was Just Shouting & having Passion,” Don noted.

“But this One is more on Key & Sounds very Similar to How He Sounds in his Songs. He already had Energy from the Get go, it’s just the Clarity & Being on Key is what he needed to Work on & think this one Shows he’s getting there! 💥💥 👍👍👍,” he added.

“Jahshii you mastered this. Excellent!! Thanks for your refreshing and inspiring performance. Big up the band members also. The frequency of that performance take me thru so many different genres, not to exclude Rock. Up up!! 🙌🏿💯🇯🇲,” vibing4u1 said.

“No Bias this is the best freaking performance I’ve seen on this stage thus far and I’m not a Jahshii fan!! Man shell the damn stage!” Christopher Fulton said.

Even one Christian came forth and sent out prayers for Jahshii for him to be blessed.

“I am a Christian, but because I am not a religious fanatic, but a JESUS-man, I still allow myself to be aware of my surroundings. Moreover, I play gospel reggae music, giving thanks to GOD for walking through the dancehall, and taking many into Gospel Hall. So, being aware of my surroundings I watched this Jashii’s performance. The man sang out his pain from his heart! JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth, may YOU walk on into Jashii’s camp and begin to speak hope and peace to them in JESUS’ name. Amen!” Glory noted.
