Dancehall star Shenseea has reacted to statements made by Minister Marion Hall during her online sermon last week Sunday.

Hall, the one-time Queen of Dancehall Lady Saw, had called out the Blessed singer for being “too slack” and pointed out that if the 25-year-old’s mother, Castilyn Eleanor, were still alive she wouldn’t be happy with the singer’s content.

Hall followed up with claims that she was going to do a song with Shenseea that will, according to her, ‘fix their past mistakes’.

Unlike Spice, who the Minister also trashed, Shenseea calmly addressed the matter in an Instagram Live over the weekend. The Lighter singer told her fans that she was advised by her manager Romeich Major, to not comment on Hall’s sermon and explained why she doesn’t condone ‘war’ among artists.

“I’m not answering to no artist, mi nah do it. Why? Because it a go look like me a war with other artist and I’m not. I’m not fighting with no artist,” she said.   “Me never yet get up and throw word after nobody.”

Shenseea urged her industry colleges to unite and help to uplift each other instead of picking fights. She said her time abroad working with international musicians has shown her the type of camaraderie that she wished to see among her compatriots.

“Me come a farrin and me see how much a dem artist yah a live together. Dem have unity, dem a do things to make dem music go pon a different level. Why we cant do that? … Mi nuh understand. Why me fi a cuss other artist?” she said.

During the Live, Shenseea also revealed that she had no knowledge of a collab with Hall after a viewer remarked, “I think that song with Mumma [Lady Saw] gonna be a hit.”

Shenseea said, “Which song? I don’t know which song uno talking about.”

The Run Run singer said that everyone who has ever approached her about teaming up on music has done so. “Everybody who want do song with me, do song with me,” she said.

Though Shenseea didn’t mention who were some of the people she wanted to record music with, it was revealed by Spice last year that she had turned down an opportunity to collab on a song with Shenseea due to differences with her manager.

Shenseea continued, “Even if other artist don’t want work with me, mi nah sidung yesso a cuss nobody enuh, fi wah? What dat a go do fi me? If so be the case, me try put Dancehall pon a different level by myself.”
