“We Can’t Make It Slide!” Popcaan Calls For Help In Search For 9-Year-Old Girl Abducted In St. Thomas

Dancehall star Popcaan has called on people in his native St. Thomas parish to help with the search for a missing 9-year-old girl, Phylisa Prussia, who was abducted from her home in Bath.

“Me Bath people them find this little girl for me please and thanks!!! 🙏🏿 🙏🏿🙏🏿 We can’t make it slide!!!😡😡 spread the word and help to find her please,” Popcaan wrote, in an Instagram post yesterday, as a massive multi-agency search got underway for the missing girl.

The Family singer, whose real name is Andrae Sutherland, is currently overseas.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), a high alert (Ananda Alert) has been activated for Prussia of Bottom Yard district, Bath, St. Thomas, who has been missing since Thursday, October 14.

She is of brown complexion, slim build and about 137 centimetres (4 feet 6 inches) tall.  Reports from the Bath Police are that about 7:10 p.m., Phylisa was last seen at home wearing a white blouse and blue shorts.

The JCF also confirmed today that a “massive multi-agency search is now underway in Bath, St. Thomas for missing 9-year-old, Phylisa Prussia.  The search party of approximately 500 persons consists of the JCF, MOHW, CPFSA, MOJ, other agencies and community members.”

 

CCTV footage from a neighbor’s home has revealed a tall dark figure walking alongside the child.

The St Thomas police have since named Davian Bryan as a person of interest in the suspected abduction.

“Bryan is being asked to report to the Morant Bay police immediately,” according to JCF.

Several other Dancehall artists have reacted to reports of Prussia’s abduction including I-Octane, Mr. Vegas, and Richie Feelings.
