Depending on who you ask, Diddy’s latest trip to the hospital came courtesy of either a notorious Jamaican drug lord or the bunk bed above his head. Two outlets are telling two very different stories about how the mogul ended up with a head injury this week.

On Wednesday (Oct. 14), TMZ reported that Diddy got hurt in a fight with Christopher “Dudus” Coke last Friday (Oct. 9).

Coke is the former leader of Jamaica’s Shower Posse, and his 2010 extradition to the United States set off deadly violence in Kingston’s Tivoli Gardens neighborhood.

According to TMZ’s sources, the beef traces back to Diddy’s prison perks. An NBC News report recently exposed that he had access to things like a cell phone and massages, which led staff to carry out multiple raids.

Coke was reportedly one of the inmates who lost a cell phone in those sweeps. The way TMZ tells it, he blamed Diddy, and the head injury was the result.

One detail makes the story even stranger. Diddy was already in solitary confinement over the perks situation, so the alleged fight would have happened during the short daily break inmates get while they’re held there.

TMZ says he was treated at a hospital on Saturday (Oct. 10) for an injury that wasn’t life threatening. Both men were reportedly placed in solitary after the scuffle and once Diddy came back.

Page Six isn’t buying the fight angle at all. Its sources say Diddy simply smacked his head on the bunk above him, and they added that he’s doing much better now.

Neither version has been publicly confirmed, which leaves fans picking between a jailhouse showdown and a clumsy moment in a cramped cell.

For a man whose every move behind bars seems to leak to the press, the lack of clarity on which story is true stands out.

The fallout from the perks exposé has already cost him. His release date, which has shifted more than once, has been pushed back two months, and he’s now scheduled to walk free on March 2, 2028.

That’s a long way off for an artist who built Bad Boy Records into a hitmaking machine in the ’90s.

In July 2025, a jury acquitted him of racketeering and sex trafficking but convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and he was later sentenced to 50 months.

Every new headline from inside seems to complicate that timeline a little more. If the TMZ account holds up, the next question is what prison officials plan to do about a clash between two very recognizable names sharing the same facility.
