Vybz Kartel – Temptation

Kartel released the audio for Temptation, which connotes heavily to the Matthew temptation bible verse. The graphic depicts ‘Jesus’ in a dark place with vultures surrounding and ‘Satan’ whispering in his ears, seemingly trying to tempt him. He teams up with Roxxie, Yowlevite to reiterate that the ‘devil is a liar’ and he will never sell out. The three minute long audio with chorus sang by Roxxie, Yowlevite is the our father prayer which stirs a mix of Dancehall and gospel.

Chronic Law – Still A Bleed

After teasing us with a video snippet of his single ‘Still A Bleed’ in an Instagram post earlier in the week, the ‘Law Boss’ finally released the official video late Sunday afternoon. The video, of course includes blood — it’s streaming from his eyes onto his clothes, staining his long sleeve hoodie and khaki coloured bank robber Clarks.  Produced by Dynasty Entertainment Group, the song is relatable as he speaks about haunting past, persisting pain and ‘fake friends,’ racking almost 200 thousand views within a couple of hours of its release.

Intence – Bermuda Triangle

The “Yahoo Boyz” DJ debuted the video ‘Bermuda Triangle’ which featured his usual ‘goth’ “choppa’ theme he usually portrays. Produced by Zimi Entertainment, this may be another hit for Intence.

Busy Signal- Party Girl

The visuals for Busy Signal’s “Party Girl” has a summertime feel, as it is set on a beach with girls dancing in vibrant coloured clothing. Although it may be one of many “girl chune” currently out now, its beat that sounds like a merge between soca and Dancehall makes it that more memorable.

Amaria BB – Fundz ft. Skillibeng

Breakout artist Amaria BB teams up with Mr. Universe, Skillibeng for ‘Fundz’ to solidify her place in the Pop/Dancehall genre. The video gives a hip hop meet Dancehall, as Amaria’s unique sound and Skillibeng’s rooted Dancehall flow give this track and video international vibes.

Squash – Don’t Play With me

Squash, from the “6ix” camp marches with another single that is quickly gaining a notable amount of views on YouTube. The 6ix boss reminds us that he is no joke in Dancehall, continuing to trend upward in the number 5 position in trending music.

Jahmiel – Mind Games

On the conscious side, Jahmiel continues to focus on his journey. Even though it follows the “wolf in sheep clothing” motif his songs typically have, the rhythm adds freshness. It’s the usual “watch your friends” topic that Jahmiel fans are accustomed to and can relate to, with over half a million views in only three days.

Swashii – Pree Like Dem

The beginning of Swashii’s “Pree Like Dem” highlights the cruel reality of the “badman culture” through a news clip, as he seeks to address this through his music. The video portrays him in an abandoned demolished building, which appears to be in the inner city. It’s representation of the garrison helps to bring across his message of him “wah fi see betta,” as he DJs that his life is worth more than “idle meds.” ‘Pree Like Dem’ separates “badness” and the ghetto youth stereotype to paint a bigger picture of a better future.

Hydal – Good Vibes

Steaming with sexual lyrical content, Hydal premieres the video to match! “Good Vibes” stars just him and love interest in different locations. His intention to depict the good vibes he sings about is well-realized, as the video vixen helps to show that, clearly.

Chris Gayle – Punjabi Daddy

Clad in Punjab attire, Chris Gayle declares himself the “Punjabi Daddy” in his new video. Collaborating with producer on this track, the beat fuses Indian music, Soca and Dancehall, making it universal. “Universe Boss” spills his ego all over this track, creating a tone suitable for the relevant atmosphere- yes, you guessed it, flossing.

Takeova – Don’t Wait

Takeova implores listeners to give him his flowers now. Shot and edited by Ricky Cee, the video which focused on the funeral of a loved one, captures the essence of living in the now.
