Vybz Kartel Takes Aim At Former Producer Miller 9
In a series of Instagram Story posts over the weekend, Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel threw several barbs at his former producer Miller 9 who, according to Kartel, had rejoiced at his downfall and wished evil on him.
In October 2019, Miller 9, a former member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, was charged along with another man, for murder, criminal conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon, in relation to a burglary and shooting which left one man dead and another injured in an Irvine, California community, according to the Broward County Sheriff Department.
The now 42-year-old producer, whose real name is Omar Miller, was jointly charged with his accomplice, Andre Omar Andrews, a resident of Miramar, Florida.
According to media reports, the former police constable could face the death penalty, since the murder occurred during the commission of a burglary. On Saturday, Kartel’s verified Instagram account said Miller 9, who was now his enemy, was possibly going to meet a worse fate than that which he had wished on him.
“All you Milla9, weh a tell mon bout Kartel fi stay a prison… now death sentence ya face,” the Dumper Truck artist wrote in his first post.
Police had released surveillance footage and photos from inside the home, which showed two men with firearms entering the residence, seemingly to commit a robbery, when the shooting occurred.
The burglary was captured on CCTV and Miller 9’s face was displayed on the police department’s Twitter page. The footage triggered Kartel’s first jab at Miller 9, in his Run Dancehall collab with Lisa Mercedes last year. On Saturday he directly declared that Miller 9 was a target of the track.

He then added: “an me still na rejoice, cause me no need system fi hurt my enimi. Mi capable & tuff enough fi hurt dem me self.”
Miller was producer of Kartel’s Big Money on the Bloodline riddim, in 2008, which also featured Blak Ryno’s Askella.
Miller was charged in 2011 along with three other police officers for the killing of 18-year-old Andre Thomas of Grants Pen in St Andrew. In May 2011, a 12-member jury returned a not guilty verdict for Miller and his co-accused, Corporals Philip Dunstan and Noel Bryan and Constable Clayton Fearon, in the Home Circuit Court. The four were freed when they claimed they killed Thomas in self-defense.
Vybz Kartel, whose given name is Adidjah Palmer, has been serving a life sentence since 2014 for the murder of his friend Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. The Portmore native, who has been in prison since 2011, was ordered to serve 35 years before parole, but had two and a half years taken off his sentence following an appeal.
