Nicki Minaj, Bounty Killer, Cham Congratulate Spice On Chart Topping New Album “10”

Despite getting stuck in Costa Rica two days ago and having to cancel her album launch party, the Queen of Dancehall and Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta star Spice’s new album 10 came out with a bang yesterday as she also celebrated her birthday.

Among her millions of ‘besties’ who came out to support, Spice also received major big-ups from some huge players on the local music scene and superstar celebrities like Nicki Minaj.

“Congratulations mama 🎈🎉✨♥️” Nicki wrote on Spice’s Instagram page. In her IG Stories, the rap icon revealed that not only did she purchase Spice’s album but will be giving her 150 million followers an update on which song in the collection is her favorite: “I’ll let y’all know my fave track tonight,” she said.

She wasn’t done yet; Nicki also shared a sizzling photo of Spice from her recent vacation in Africa, donning a zebra print monokini to toast the Queen on her earth strong. “Happy Birthday bod gyal” she wrote.

Last night upon realizing she wasn’t going to make it to her album launch party in Atlanta, Spice was determined to maintain a positive outlook. In doing so she hopped on her IG live to have a very personal listening party with her fans. She bought a mini-boom box and played each song on the collection with exclusive commentary.

It wasn’t long after that faces like Bounty Killer and Cham popped up on her chat.

If you know anything about Spice’s journey to stardom, then you know Bounty and Cham played a pivotal role in her career. She mentioned them both in the single S.P.I.C.E. on the LP where she give them their flowers, along with others like Vybz Kartel and Ninja Man.

“Bounty give me the first mic inna mi hand,” she reminded her fans. She also used the opportunity last night to ask the Warlord what exactly he saw in 15-year-old Spice.

“Mi just want ask you one question. That motivation that you gave me when I was about 15, what was it that you saw in me? Because my father died when I was 9 and him never get a chance fi tell me say yo, ah dis mi did see in you. My father tell me from mi a likkle girl and you tell me, and mi neva let it go from you tell me. Is like that gimmi the strength and the courage weh mi have. Mi nuh know wha you see in a me when mi so young,” Spice beamed.

Bounty replied, “I saw the fire in you, I saw the determination and I saw the talent. I saw the drive… All the things I saw, I see it blossom into the Dancehall Queen today.”

Cham also joined in on Spice’s chat afterward to congratulate the Frenz singer on her long-awaited accomplishment. He took a voyage back in time to share with viewers a time when Spice contemplated leaving music. She confided in him back in the day that it was too much of a fight trying to make it in a male-dominated space.

“Nubaddy neva waa record yuh” he said but “From day one you have the drive and the work ethic, you have the love,” he added, which led to him introducing Spice to Jamaican record producer Dave Kelly. Spice revealed Cham later helped her to land her smash hit Fight Ova Man.

“Thank you for everything that you’ve done for my career, from dem time deh, it has mold me and shaped me into who I am today and mi appreciate it and big up!” Spice told the Ghetto Story deejay.

Meanwhile, Spice’s album has been performing exceptionally well upon its release. It has debuted at the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Reggae Chart ahead of Vybz Kartel’s Born Fi Dis, which also dropped today.

Spice also shared that 10 got No.1 best-selling album on Amazon’s Movers and Shakers list and No. 1 on the best seller International Album chart.

Queen Spice has also graced Spotify’s New Music Friday Billboard in Toronto, Canada.

She also shared a new clip from her African vacation, where she was walking with six lions.  “I’ve taken a lot of risk in life to reach where I am but this by far is the biggest one,” she wrote.  “I walked with 6 lions to represent the 6th day of August my Birthday 🥳 Leo ♌️ season. Brave Black woman and I always walk alone ✊🏿 I fear nothing but God 🙏🏾.”
