Dancehall star Shenseea has finally shut down rumors that she was pregnant for Canadian rapper Drake.

The 24-year-old Jamaican singer was linked to Drake in an April 1st story titled “Shenseea claims she is pregnant for Drake but he is denying it” by 18karatreggae.com, which was later picked up by a Bahamas radio station.  The story, which went viral on social media in June, claimed that Shenseea had hired Jamaican lawyer Isat Buchanan to ‘look into paternity and child support’.  The story also contained what was allegedly a text conversation, where Drake accused Shenseea of having “questionable motives” and of trying “to get Kim Kardashian or Cardi B type of fame out of” the situation.

While Buchanan debunked the story as “fake news” during an interview on June 18, Shenseea had not publicly addressed the report until she jumped onto Instagram Live today with over 13,000 fans and DJ Khaled watching.

Shenseea said the reason she was addressing the fake story now was because of a comment left by a follower on her recent announcement that Wassim ‘Sal’ Slaiby was her new manager.

“Me see a comment where a girl said ‘from mi have sex with Drake everything start go up’. I’m like, so wait, uno actually believe this sh-t ? Like uno serious, uno serious-serious?” Shenseea asked.

“If you don’t hear it from me, it’s not true,” she declared.  “People literally get up and tell lies, like it’s not even funny. When I read what I saw about myself on the internet, I was like who even have the heart to do sh-t like this.  Who does that?”

The Bad Alone singer said that while she is known to kid around, the non-sensical rumor was not a joking matter.

“You know I love to play around.  But that’s not even funny, bro.  Why would I get up and say I have sex with somebody as a publicity stunt when it’s not true.  Why mi would wan add body to whatever body count mi might have.  That nah even mek sense, especially publicly.  C’mon, do better than that.”

Shenseea continued, “And then screenshots? Bro, first of all, no screenshot not even out.  Second of all, as I said, if you don’t hear it from me, it’s not true.  I’ve been in situations where people photoshop sh-t of me, and you have to understand I’m not gonna come on the net and try fi clear up every single thing wet mi hear bout miself….This story doesn’t even make no sense, bro.  So why, I need to come on here to try fi prove otherwise when it literally right there.”

The Blessed singer said she was proud of her reputation in Jamaica as someone who works hard.

“I don’t play with my vagina.  Three things yuh nah fi play with when it come to me.  My Son. My Career. And My Vagina. Bro, this pum, pum? No. No.  Unu notice, mi nuh even post man pon my Instagram. No. No. Nope.  Don’t play with my pum, pum.  I don’t play like that,” she said.

“All of the artists dem inna Jamaica, can tell you I’ve never flirted with them much less to have encounters with them.  When them see me, they know ah work.”

Shenseea also explained why she did not end her social media break to debunk the rumor.

“I was literally taking a break to get my mental health right, and I’m happy I did that because I was really trying to hold on and, sometimes you feel like because you continue, you consider yourself as strong.  But what I really doing was burying my problems and just taking it day by day.  Get up, smile and take on another day.  And at the end of the day, at night, it’s like..depression. Mental breakdown.”

She added, “So I’m there, you know, taking time for myself ..for me fi come out of my likkle break… and address foolishness?  So yuh ah tell me seh, yuh nah have sense fi really mek one out a two and see seh yow this nah mek no sense.  This maths nah add up?”

She also revealed that she sought legal advice about the fake news story, but ultimately, her lawyers advised her to ignore it.

“I was like cool let me get in contact with the lawyer cause this not even make no sense,” she said.  “One, the lawyer say it ago tek too long to get down that story right. Two, it don’t make no sense because people can literally just get up and chat sh-t and post it on the website so it’s gonna come again and again.”

The singer will release the first single, Run Run, from her debut album on Friday.
