It seems that recent reports that Canadian rap star Drake is expecting a child with Dancehall songstress Shenseea are false.

The story, currently circulating on social media and YouTube, was started on 18karatreggae.com, a known fake news website, in an April article titled “Shenseea claims she is pregnant for Drake but he is denying it.” The article claimed among other things that Shenseea hired a Jamaican attorney, Isat Buchanan, to look into paternity and child support, that Drake wanted her to have an abortion and that the dancehall singjay might also be pregnant for incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel.

The article also contained what was allegedly a text convo between the two stars where Drake accused Shenseea of trying “to get Kim Kardashian or Cardi B type of fame out of” the situation.

The story was then picked up by Bahamian radio outlet 100 Jamz on their June 9 broadcast where they cited the entire article including a purported response from “Drake’s people” about Shenseea’s “questionable motives”.

This has led to a firestorm across social media in the last few days with theories from YouTubers and in viral tweets.

Neither singer, however, has come out to clear the air on the allegations, although Shenseea’s frequent collaborator and CEO/producer of Head Concussion Records, Rvssian did write “FAKE NEWS” on his Instagram Stories yesterday, no doubt in reference to the growing firestorm.

Isat Buchanan, the lawyer named in the article, who is representing Vybz Kartel in his murder appeal, also confirmed that the Drake and Shenseea story was “fake news” while being interviewed on TVJ’s Entertainment Report on June 18.

Drake does have a three-year-old son named Adonis Graham with Sophie Brussaux, while Shenseea has a five-year-old named Rajeiro Lee.

Drake & Shenseea’s Rumored Collab

While reports of a second baby on the way for the two artists are false, fans are also speculating whether or not they have a collaboration in the works.

On Queen of Dancehall Spice’s recent Instagram Live, the Inches deejay put Shenseea’s manager Romeich Major on blast for the failed collaboration between herself and the Blessed singer.

“Unnu do song wid Jesus, unnu do song wid 21 Savage, unu have song ah come out wid Drake, unnu have all kinda ah sumn plan pon di album, nuh care di biggest sumn weh yuh get yuh still have a problem wid me,” she said essentially letting the cat out of the bag that Drake and Shenseea might have an upcoming collab.

Shenseea is expected to release her debut album later this year, while Drake has confirmed that his delayed upcoming album, Certified Lover Boy, will be released before the end of summer, according to Billboard.
