The Queen Of Dancehall Spice says her debut album has been delayed by one week.  TEN, which was some 10 years in the making and set to be released on July 30, will instead be released on August 6, her 39th birthday.

In an Instagram Live last night, Spice explained that while she was disappointed by the development, she nevertheless was excited that the new date falls on her birthday.

“We have good news and bad news, okay” she told her besties. “The bad news is the date kinda push back a little bit. Of course, I was upset, but the date got pushed back a bit, which is a little bad news for us besties but guess what, they push it back a week and the week end up falling right on my birthday.”

“I don’t know if its God or how it go but yeah, on my birthday it’s still a blessing so I can’t complain an mi nah fly up inna God face, mi still feel good an mi still grateful.”

No reason was provided for the delay.

TEN, which will be released by VP Records, will feature her hit single Go Down Deh with Shaggy and Sean Paul.  “Big up to Shaggy again, yuh done know and big up Sean Paul as well but yeah.. the album is ready and it will be here regardless. Better late than never,” she said on the Live.

While there’s still no confirmed tracklist, Spice implored her fans to support the album the “real way” when the album becomes available for pre-order in a few days.

“Within the next two days you can pre save the album, or you can pre order which mean yuh can start grab the album from now,” she said. “Run up the numbers….we gotta create some history with this project it’s very passionate to me, it means everything to mi, it means the world to me.”

Go Down Deh’s music video, directed by Jay Will, has amassed almost 19 million YouTube views since it premiered on May 1.

The LP’s cover art was first unveiled during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in June.  It showed Spice posed against an intergalactic/space-like backdrop, rocking a fierce metallic bodysuit complete with matching neck and hand armor and paired with platform stiletto boots.
