Queen of Dancehall and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Spice is confident on the throne and says she isn’t competing with anyone in Dancehall.

Fans, who tuned in to one of her latest Instagram Live videos, received the Rolling singer’s very frank admission that she’s ‘not fighting for Dancehall’ like “some man” who are trying ‘own’ it.

During the 14-minute Live session with fans on Thursday, Spice was asked what she thought about the current content in Dancehall music.  She said it was good and thought everyone that was pushing out new music right now should get their flowers. “The music dem a gwaan good in a Dancehall. At the end of the day everybody a do good, everybody fi get dem flowers,” she said.

The statement, however, gave her the perfect opportunity to talk up about industry professionals who were running their mouths of late.

“Dancehall ah Dancehall! Me come yah and see Dancehall and mi a go weh lef Dancehall,” she argued in what appears to be an ongoing war of words with “some man”.

“Dancehall nuh live a nuh body yard, so when some man a gwaan like seh dem own Dancehall, mi sure say dem come here come see it and dem a go lef it … dat a one ting me know.”

Spice went on further to say that she would be out of her mind to fight for something that doesn’t belong to her or any ‘one’ person for that matter. “Me could ah never be a madwoman fi come yah and ah fight fi Dancehall and mi never make it,” she added.

Last week, Shenseea’s manager Romeich Major threw major shade on Spice as he attempted to ‘set the record straight’ regarding her new song, Go Down Deh, and its disputed history-making release as it hit 10 million YouTube views in 4 weeks.

So it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Spice was referring to Major as one of the ‘some men’ in her recent IG Live. She did promise to address more of those issues on a follow-up Live later that night.

Update: Spice Puts Romeich On Blast For Failed Collab With Shenseea

Spice and her ‘Besties’ have seemingly been at odds with Shenseea and her Shenyengs over the last few months.

The issues started, in December, when Spice’s former friend and controversial celebrity spiritual advisor RT Boss claimed, among several other things, that Spice refused a collaboration with Shenseea because she was insecure that the newcomer would outshine her.  Spice denied all of his claims and pointed out that RT was seeking attention.

Later that month, Shenseea, herself, revealed that she had been snubbed for collabs with other female Dancehall stars but she did not name names.

Then in January, when Shenseea drew comparisons to rap icon Nicki Minaj after dropping her fire freestyle on the Don’t Rush riddim, some fans were perhaps too quick to say that Shenseea was ready to be the new Queen of Dancehall.  Then, RT Boss, who takes credit for positioning Spice on the throne once held by Lady Saw, took the opportunity to declare that he had ‘pulled the gate’ for Shenseea to take over as Queen.

The two artists remained Instagram friendly until a few days later, when Jada Kingdom acknowledged Spice as a mentor and reaffirmed the Romping Shop singer’s status as ‘Queen of Dancehall’.   Spice re-shared Jada’s post, adding that no other female had ever tagged her to say they “watched and learned anything” from her. However, in the firestorm that followed, fans pointed out that Shenseea had previously done just that as an upcoming artist.

The Blessed singer promptly unfollowed Spice, allegedly because of that perceived slight, and Spice later did the same, while denying that she was throwing any shade.

“Y’all twist words to reflect what you want. I’m way to successful to be arguing over dump sh-t. #Goodnight,” Spice wrote on her Instagram Story in January during the fuss.

Meanwhile, Spice has also included Shenseea among the artists she thought were “doing well” in a May interview with Essence Magazine.

Both Shenseea and Spice are expected to release their debut albums this year.
