The father of Canadian rapper Drake, Dennis Graham, is offering a $1 million JMD reward (approximately $6700USD) to anyone in Jamaica who can help him recover a chest that was stolen on the island.

In an Instagram post yesterday April 1, the 66-year-old was sure to let folks know that it was not an April Fools joke and that the chest, which apparently belongs to an “Aunty Flo”, had high sentimental value.

“We are offering a $1 Million jmd reward for anyone in possession of a chest taken from 9 Dacosta Drive, Ocho Rios St. Ann Jamaica,” he posted.

“We will not prosecute whoever returns it unopened. It does not contain anything of monetary value, Just sentimental value. Please email auntyflochest@gmail.com for drop off location and arrange of payment.NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!” he added.

Other than the reward he is willing to pay, there’s no other information that can help his cause. He doesn’t mention when he or the friend had visited Jamaica, or around what time he believed the theft might have occurred.

Even though the appeal seems legitimate many of his followers questioned the initial address given, as it does not exist. This fan highlighted that fact: “People we dont have an “9 Decosta Drive ” in St. Mary’ so that’s inaccurate “9 decosta Drive” in Ocho Rio’s St. ANN JAMAICA.”

Several of them expressed the hope that the chest would be returned safely, while some were more concerned about Drake’s upcoming sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy.

Hey man can you tell your son to drop the album,” said one.

“I will venture off in an attempt to retrieve this chest singe handedly if @champagnepapi drops CLB tonight,” another quipped.

Drake and his dad have had a bit of a roller-coaster relationship over the years, and in 2019 Drake lashed out at him after he basically said that the rapper made up lyrics about their strained relationship.

“Woke up today so hurt man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him,” he wrote on an Instagram post. “It’s sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that’s the people we are stuck with. Every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept,” he continued.

At the time he was responding to Graham’s comments during an interview with Nick Cannon on the HBO series The Shop. “I have always been with Drake. I said, ‘Drake why are you saying all of this different stuff about me man? This is not cool.’ And he goes, ‘Dad, it sells records.” He added: “I exposed him to every aspect of life. I never hid anything from him. I showed him this side of life. I showed him that side of life.”

Drake’s dad, who was born in Memphis, Tennessee, is also an entertainer in his own right as a jazz, blues, and soul musician who used to play the drums for Jerry Lee Lewis. In 2017, the old-timer dropped a video for his R&B track Kinda Crazy where he serenaded a young vixen.
