Red Alert! Skillibeng & Dancing Rebel Host E-Syde’s Take On The #SilhouetteChallenge With 150k Prize
Dancehall artist Skillibeng and dancer Dancing Rebel have officially entered the chat with the E-Syde spin on TikTok’s viral #SilhouetteChallenge.
The sexy videos are the latest in January’s jaw-dropping social media trends following last week’s #BussItChallenge. With over 150 million views and counting across platforms, Mr. Universe added his voice to the viral hit and is already top 5 on YouTube JM trending.
The Silhouette Challenge is a 1-minute Tik-Tok video that involves mostly females posing dressed down in a doorway before turning into a black silhouette against a seductive red background. It’s set to an audio mashup of Paul Anka’s Put Your Head On My Shoulder, and Streets by Doja Cat, with sultry moves rather than actual lyrics being the focus.
Skilli taps into the trend with 2 minutes of instructions for the ladies showing off their curvy figures and flexibility.
“This is a challenge, not a song” he captioned his new video on YouTube, a clever move to milk the viral trend by catching views with audio as well as hosting a contest.
His video challenge is the soundtrack for a competition being hosted by himself and Christina Nelson aka Dancing Rebel on Instagram. A grand prize of $150,000 awaits the best contestant to “twerk”, “shake” or “dweet fast or slow, dweet fi yu way” like he says on the track.
Skilli’s take on the challenge is not only buzzing on YouTube, but fans have also been quick to roll out their video responses on #eastsydesilhouettechallenge. The Torpedo deejay has reposted a few of them, with even more expected to flood the IG feed as word spreads.
