Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel has remixed American rappers Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s hit single WAP.

The incarcerated singer teased a snippet of the remix, dubbed the WAP freemix, and even got Cardi B begging for the release after Kartel asked, “Drop it? Or Stop it ?” in an Instagram post last night.

The Bodak Yellow singer almost immediately replied: “OMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGG I WANT TO HEAR IT NOOOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!”

Two hours later and with Cardi B’s approval, Kartel delivered the minute and a half-track that was explicit and raw, very much like the original and very much like his style, which he honed in the 90s and early 2000s. The beat is catchy, and both artistes complement each other well on the banger of a beat.

Kartel also took shots at the MVP camp in the WAP freemix. In one section of the song he sings that he’s up for all manner of raunchy things with the exception of one. “No Brawta,” he says, which was immediately liked by Squash, who commented: “No Brawta,” as well followed by several laughing emojis.

The line is a direct shot at Alkaline, who in 2014 sang F–k You” on the Igloo Riddim, produced by So Unique Records. In that single, Alkaline said he wouldn’t mind getting his rear washed/licked by his girlfriend. He sang: “Co**y su*k and batty wash is just a brawta.”

The line didn’t sit well with Jamaican Dancehall fans who are still not welcoming of certain sexual practices, and Alkaline has been blasted for it several times over the years.

The WAP freemix, which was put up around midnight Sunday, August 8, has already gotten over 250,000 views.  The response eventually led to it being released on YouTube on Kartel’s official channel.

The Unruly Boss Popcaan said: “ya mad man enuh humbre,” while Stefflon Don added: “If mi lov yuh one more time.”

Even American rapper Busta Rhymes was impressed with the effort. He commented: “MAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!”

One fan was just amazed at the Worl’ Boss talent and work ethic: “Kartel a di boas one day after the tune drop de man remix it and cardi b herself commented,” while other fans immediately picked up on the shots fired like this one who said: ““No brawta nuh matter wah no dawta “dah part deh and this fan who said: “No brawta FULLY Gaza mi don.”

Meanwhile, Cardi’s response should not be surprising.  The rapper is a huge Dancehall fan and regularly sings and plays Vybz Kartel songs in her many Live videos with Instagram fans.   Megan is a Dancehall fan, herself.

Fans have been waiting for an official collab between the two singers, but the closest they have gotten was when the rapper tapped into her Trinidadian roots for a remix of Stylo G’s Touch Down, which featured both Kartel and Minaj.

WAP was released on August 6 and is currently the No. 1 song in several countries with over 50 million views.  The hot video for the collaboration left fans stunned with appearances by Kylie Jenner, Normani, Mulatto, Sukihana, and Rubi Rose. The women all taken up their spots in a “wet” pastel-toned mansion.
