Dancehall Star Aidonia To Get His Own Strain Of Marijuana, Fans Get To Name It

Dancehall star Aidonia hasn’t been releasing a lot of new music, and it appears this is because he’s been working on other green endeavors.

It was recently announced that ‘Donia will soon have his very own strain of marijuana. The product will be produced by Epican Medicinal Limited, which is Jamaica’s first cannabis dispensary.

Aidonia, who became an Epican brand ambassador in February 2019, has long been an advocate for the use of marijuana. The Hot Tool singer has featured the herb many times in his videos.

The president of Epican president Dwayne McKenzie said the partnership was an ideal one as marijuana is a significant part of Jamaican popular music. During the unveiling ceremony, McKenzie said: “when we look at Aidonia’s chart, how he has moved and how he has held his own, it reminds us of what we went through. So all the signs aligned themselves, and everything was properly worked out.

He added: “I am sure it will be a lasting and an evolutionary relationship, which will bring something to the Epican brand.”

Aidonia was also happy to join the brand and promote his love of the herb.

“It is a great fit because dancehall music and marijuana is like a relationship, a marriage; and if you check the history of dancehall music and reggae music, we have been fighting for this. Once I got this opportunity to be a part of this, it was just ‘epicness,’” he said.

About a week ago, the company posted on Instagram asking fans to join in the naming of the strain. “@aidonia4thgenna in the Epican Lab developing his NEW trademark strain with our Regional Retain Manager @kharmalove, Head of Marketing @jbibbons and President, D McK. What do you think he should name his strain? Best name wins!,” they said in the post with a photograph of Aidonia in the lab.

Many names have been offered so far like Lala land, Nuh Boring Herb, aircraft, Gen kush, Hi Donia kush, and Genna Kush #4TH.

Some fans were also curious about the type of marijuana it would be.

This fan said: “Indica or sativa? What stains is he putting together to create the new strain?”

Many unique names have been offered so far, and fans who are smokers will be eagerly awaiting the new creation.
