Not everyone is saddened by the fact that Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer was not freed yesterday following the Jamaican Court of Appeal’s decision to deny his appeal.

A voice note is making the rounds on social media and it is claimed that the voice heard in it is that of the mother of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. Lizard is the victim of the murder for which Kartel and three others have been incarcerated.

In the voice note the woman expresses anger and bitterness and shares that she is still saddened by the death of her son. Listen to it below.

She starts the note by saying: “We go down pon we knee and we pray, we eyewater never fall in vain. Me pickney never do you nuttin. Me pickney never do him nuttin, me say.”

In the audio clip, which is just about two minutes long, the woman says that she remembers her son’s death on the anniversary every year and that she believes Kartel must stay imprisoned for what he’s done.

“Privy council nah free him. Every first of February meh remember meh boy.” The woman goes on to say that she’s not afraid either of anyone coming to look for her to try and silence her.

“Who wah come look for me now can come look. Same way me ah feel it him mooma ah go feel it too,” she says before affirming: “Him blessing run out.” She also said that she hoped cancer would kill the Worl’ Boss while he is in jail.

However, according to an article in the Jamaica Gleaner the family of Lizard has denied that the voice circulating is actually the man’s mother. While they did say that they all still miss Lizard they said the voice note was not real.

They’ve asked the public to respect their privacy as they continue to deal with his loss. They also thanked the public for showing their support over the years since Lizard’s murder.
