Hennessy cognac, a contraband phone, and fellow inmates allegedly paid to make his bed and give him massages. Those were the claims swirling around Sean “Diddy” Combs last month, and now he has a new address.

The Bad Boy Records founder has been moved from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania.

A source confirmed the transfer to AP on Friday, and the US Bureau of Prisons later confirmed it too, though it gave no reason for the decision.

Allenwood Low sits near the town of Williamsport, roughly 250 kilometres from New York City. As the name suggests, it houses inmates in a low security setting.

The timing is hard to ignore. A report last month alleged Combs had held onto pieces of his wealthy lifestyle behind bars, with other inmates reportedly being paid to cook for him and clean his living space.

That same report claimed he used a prohibited mobile phone to scroll social media. It also alleged he used it to view nude selfies of a former girlfriend.

Combs’ camp isn’t connecting any dots publicly. His spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, said, “Decisions about inmate placement are made by the BOP, and we are not in a position to speak to the circumstances surrounding this transfer.”

Engelmayer added, “Sean remains focused on moving forward, and we hope that his time at the new facility will be productive and without unnecessary disruption,” as quoted by BBC. It’s a careful statement that neither confirms nor pushes back on the privilege allegations.

Then there’s the TMZ angle. On Wednesday the outlet reported that Combs had been hurt in a confrontation with another inmate and taken outside the prison for medical treatment.

The Bureau of Prisons shut that down fast. “The story you are referring to is false and did not happen,” the agency said, as quoted by AP, which leaves fans and critics alike squinting at a week of competing headlines.

For context, Combs, 56, is serving a sentence of four years and two months. A New York jury convicted him in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, while clearing him of the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges he had faced.

He was sentenced that October. During the trial, two of his former girlfriends testified about alleged abuse and sexual encounters involving male escorts, testimony that kept the case in the headlines for weeks.

The BOP hasn’t said if the move is linked to last month’s report, and nobody close to Combs is offering more than a line about moving forward.

For now, the questions about what life inside actually looked like at Fort Dix are still hanging in the air.
