Don Toliver is back in Victony’s world. The Houston rapper, who jumped on the 2023 remix of Victony and Tempoe’s breakout hit ‘Soweto’ alongside Rema, is returning for another run, this time on the remix of ‘Slick’ with R&B star Summer Walker joining him.
Victony confirmed the remix drops at midnight on Friday, October 16, 2026. It’s a clear play for the American market, pairing the Nigerian singer with two artists who carry serious weight in US R&B and hip hop circles.
The original ‘Slick’ landed in July 2026 and turned into one of Victony’s biggest solo records so far. It sat at number one on Nigeria’s Official Top 100 chart for three straight weeks, giving him his first solo chart topper at home. Strong radio play and streaming numbers kept it in heavy rotation through the year.
The song didn’t stay local for long. It climbed to number two on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and held that spot for three consecutive weeks.
During the August 21 to 27 tracking period, it reportedly pulled in 900,000 official streams in the United States alone.
Slick’ later found a home on STARLIFE, Victony’s sophomore album released in 2026. The track remained the album’s highest charting song in Nigeria after the project dropped, which says a lot about how much the single had already carried on its own.
The Don Toliver connection is the part longtime fans will clock first. The ‘Soweto’ remix helped push Victony to a much wider audience a few years back, and bringing Toliver back suggests the singer knows exactly which formula has worked for him before.
Toliver’s melodic, hazy delivery has always sat comfortably next to Afrobeats production, so the fit makes sense on paper.
Summer Walker is the newer and arguably more interesting addition. The Atlanta singer built a devoted following through projects like Over It and Still Over It, and her presence points the record squarely at R&B listeners who might not regularly dip into Afrobeats playlists.
There’s another way to read the move, though. ‘Slick’ already did serious numbers in both Nigeria and the US without any big name features, so some fans may see the remix as a bonus rather than a necessity.

The original’s run proved Victony can chart on his own terms, and the remix now has to justify itself next to a version people already love.
From a business angle, the logic is easy to follow. Afrobeats remixes with American features have become a familiar route for Nigerian acts looking to stretch a hit beyond its first life, and Victony has benefited from that approach before.
All eyes now turn to midnight on Friday. How Walker and Toliver slot into the song, and how the remix performs once it hits US streaming charts, will decide if ‘Slick’ gets a second wind or simply settles in as a strong chapter in Victony’s 2026.
