Bounty Killer (Rodney Basil Price, born 1972) is a Jamaican dancehall deejay from Kingston, known as “The Warlord” and widely regarded as one of the most influential dancehall lyricists of all time. He began on sound systems in his teens and rose to fame in the 1990s with a hard-edged style and hits like “Down in the Ghetto” and “Babylon System.” His 1996 album My Xperience was a major success, and he has collaborated with artists such as Busta Rhymes, the Fugees, Mobb Deep and No Doubt. His 2001 collaboration with No Doubt, “Hey Baby,” won a Grammy Award, making him one of the few hardcore dancehall artists to do so. He also founded the Bounty Killer Foundation in 2018 for charitable work in Jamaica.
