With Cardi B ditching the BZK WKND, thousands of ticket-holding patrons are now left in limbo.

However, BZR WKND organisers are urging patience after the rap superstar withdrew from her October 18 appearance at Kingston’s National Stadium, leaving patrons uncertain about the festival’s future—and the fate of tickets already bought.

In a social media statement on Friday, the management team acknowledged the mounting demand for answers.

“We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding this event, and we recognise that fans and ticket holders are looking for clarity,” the team said.

Clarity, however, remains in short supply. The statement did not confirm whether the festival, scheduled for October 18 and 19, would proceed or outline arrangements for ticket holders.

Cardi, meanwhile, has offered an apology and a pointed defence of her decision. In an online video, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper said she had repeatedly tried to make the performance happen before pulling out.
She also dismissed suggestions that sluggish ticket sales had sunk the booking, saying she had heard that more than 18,000 tickets had been sold. That figure has not been independently verified.

“For the haters, not the Jamaicans, but for the haters talking about little ticket sales, it was never that,” she said.

On the circumstances behind her withdrawal, the famously outspoken rapper was less forthcoming. Contractual restrictions, she said, prevented her from explaining—but she made clear where she felt responsibility did not lie.

“However, ooh, I can’t talk. I can’t talk due to contracts. But just know, it wasn’t me,” she said.

Organisers have yet to explain the suspension of ticket sales or say what comes next. With the dates drawing closer, fans who paid for a party are still waiting for a plan.
