Young Thug’s latest words about Rich Homie Quan came with a detail nobody saw coming. The Atlanta rapper revealed that his own sons once called him to ask if he was gay, all because Quan had said it publicly during their falling out.
The admission surfaced in an Instagram comment on Sept. 26, and it wasn’t a random post. Thug was responding to Rich Homie Nard, Quan’s longtime affiliate, who had called him out directly a few days earlier.
Last week, Nard shared a throwback video of Quan and Thugger hanging out back when things were good between them. In the caption, he urged Thug to let go of any hostility he might still carry toward the late rapper. @thuggerthugger1 u said until we d.i.e Quan gone and not coming back come on slime !!!!!! Y’all ni**as was kids having y’all way @richhomiequan loved u homie,” he wrote.
Nard didn’t stop there. He pointed out that Thug had Quan’s name tattooed on him and told him, “Stop doing da homie like dat that’s not P slime!” He also brought up Thug’s leaked jail calls, in which the rapper was heard talking badly about some of his industry peers.
“The same way them ni**as forgave you for talking about them on that phone to your girl give him the same common courtesy slime!!! Nobody’s perfect!!! Players f**k up 2!!!” Nard added. It was a pointed comparison, asking Thug to extend the grace he himself had received.
Thug’s reply mixed loyalty with a little hurt. “My brada forever never ever said nun bout bro even when he called me gay publicly,” he wrote. He then described the phone call from his sons before adding, “U no I would’ve died bout that boy, I no he know that. Players f**k up,” closing the comment with a mending heart emoji.
That last line echoed Nard’s own words back at him, which reads like Thug conceding the point. He’s owning his part in the fallout while still making clear that Quan’s comments landed hard on his family.
The history here runs deep. Thug and Quan came up together as Rich Gang, and their chemistry turned them into one of Atlanta’s most talked about duos in the mid 2010s. That partnership fractured in 2015 when Quan left the group, and the split spilled into a public feud.
The two never patched things up. Quan died in September 2024, leaving the rift permanently unresolved and turning every mention of it into something heavier.
Since then, Thug has spoken openly about his regret over not fixing things with Quan. He has repeatedly insisted that he never switched up on his old partner, even when their relationship looked broken from the outside.
Nard’s post suggests that not everyone in Quan’s circle has fully accepted that version of events. Thug’s response, part apology and part defense, shows he’s still working through it himself, and with Quan’s people now speaking up publicly, this conversation may not be finished yet.
