Ayra Starr just proved that a duet partner doesn’t need to be physically present to make a crowd feel every single word.

At All Points East 2026 in Victoria Park, London, she performed “Heaven Baby” live while ZAYN appeared on a giant screen behind her, his pre-recorded verse playing out like he was right there in the park.

The setup worked in a way that could have easily felt gimmicky but didn’t. ZAYN’s video showed him performing his verse directly into the camera, and the effect made the romantic back-and-forth of the song land just as it does on the record.

Heaven Baby” is a track off Ayra’s third studio album, Starrgirl, which dropped on 14 August 2026. The song is a cross-genre collaboration between the Nigerian singer and the former One Direction star, built around devotion, deep affection, and a kind of high-romance energy that sits somewhere between Afrobeats and global pop.

Ayra’s look for the performance was doing a lot of the talking too. She wore a futuristic two-piece featuring structured metallic silver paneling with purple accents, a white bralette underneath sculpted silver-and-purple plates connected to a bold high-neck choker collar, a matching striped mini skirt, and knee-high metallic boots. The whole outfit locked into the purple visual identity she’s been running with throughout the Starrgirl era.

Her hair was pulled into an ultra-long high ponytail falling past her waist, and the bronzed glam kept everything looking sharp under the festival lights. It was the kind of stage outfit that photographs well but also reads clearly from the back of a packed crowd.

All Points East billed her as one of the standout performers of the day, and based on the crowd reaction circulating online, that wasn’t just festival PR doing its job.

Fans who were there have been vocal about the moment, with several calling it one of the cleaner live performances of the summer festival season so far.

What makes the performance interesting beyond the spectacle is what it says about where Ayra is right now as an artist.

Starrgirl is her third album, and pulling ZAYN onto a track, then staging it like this at a major London festival, signals a very deliberate push into a wider international lane. She’s not just representing Afrobeats to a global audience, she’s actively reshaping what a collaboration within that space can look like.

ZAYN, for his part, has kept a relatively low public profile in recent years, so his appearance on the track and now on screen at a major UK festival is being noted by fans on both sides.

His audience and Ayra’s don’t overlap completely, and that gap is exactly where “Heaven Baby” is trying to plant a flag.

The Starrgirl album era is still early, and with festival season running through the summer, there’s every reason to think this performance is just the first of several live moments built around it.
