The most interesting name on Future’s new single might not be Drake or Travis Scott. It’s Loe Shimmy, who now finds himself trading verses with three of the biggest stars rap has produced in the last fifteen years.
‘Ya Hit’ arrived on November 6 as the first official taste of Future’s next album. The track lands after days of buildup that started when a snippet of the collaboration surfaced online.
Future kept the hype going himself by teasing new music on X earlier in the week. By the time the full song dropped, fans had already spent days dissecting the clip and guessing who would show up on it.
Then there’s the Drake factor. Not long ago, a reunion between these two looked unlikely after their relationship cooled very publicly in 2024.
That rift came into focus during Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘We Don’t Trust You’ era. Like That,’ the Kendrick Lamar assisted record from that project, turned quiet tension into open warfare and kicked off one of the most watched rap feuds in years.
So seeing Drake on the lead single of a new Future project carries real weight. The pair first patched things up on record earlier this year with Drake’s ‘Ran to Atlanta,’ and ‘Ya Hit’ suggests that wasn’t a one off.
For longtime fans, this is familiar territory. Future and Drake’s 2015 joint tape ‘What a Time to Be Alive’ remains a high point for both, so any time they link up, the comparisons come quickly.
Travis Scott brings his own history to the room. His run with Drake on ‘Sicko Mode’ is still one of the biggest moments either artist has had, which makes his presence here feel like part of a larger reunion.
Loe Shimmy’s angle is a different story entirely. He’s been building a run with Drake lately, and their song ‘I’m Spent’ recently got a remix tease from Usher, which is not the kind of cosign most newer artists see this early.
Landing on a Future single next to Drake and Travis puts him in front of an enormous audience. It also raises the stakes, because listeners will naturally measure his verse against three veterans who have spent more than a decade at the top.

Future heads into this new era with plenty of momentum. His previous album, ‘The Real Me,’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving him his 12th chart topping project.
Some listeners will hear ‘Ya Hit’ as a victory lap for the Future and Drake reconciliation. Others will treat it as a test of how much of their old chemistry survived the fallout.
No album title or release date has been announced yet. For now, Future has fired the first shot of a new rollout, and the question is who else he’s bringing along for the rest of it.
