International dancehall superstar Beenie Man and Mýa are back on UK radio together. “Don’t Rush”, their reunion on the dancehall star’s album Eminence, has aired on BBC Radio 1Xtra, with the track appearing in multiple entries in the station’s third-party airplay logs.
The song reunites the pair behind “Girls Dem Sugar”, this time with Jamaican producer Kemar McGregor. It appears as the second track on Eminence, released in August through Billboard King Records.
Beenie Man has a long relationship with 1Xtra. The station previously handed him the controls for a 1Xtra Loves Jamaica takeover, where he played some of his favourite records, and devoted a separate 1Xtra Salutes special to his catalogue.
Before publishing: The logs support repeat airplay. I couldn’t independently verify that Nadia Jae named it “Track of the Week” or that the station added it to its official playlist or put it in heavy rotation.
