Burna Boy is getting his own voice in Vice City. The Nigerian star will co-host AfroBank FM in Grand Theft Auto VI, appearing in the game as a radio personality simply called “Burna.”
He won’t be running the station alone. Burna Boy shares the mic with DJ and producer Palms Trax, a pairing that puts one of Afrobeats’ biggest names next to a selector known for digging deep into club music.
The station’s playlist is built to cover a lot of ground. AfroBank FM will pull sounds from across the African continent, mixing 20th century classics with amapiano, 3 step and tracks most players have probably never heard before.
That last part might be the most interesting detail here. A station that leans on undiscovered music rather than just stacking up hits could introduce millions of gamers to artists who have never come close to a global audience.
This isn’t Burna Boy’s first time in the Rockstar universe, either. His single “Killin Dem,” featuring Zlatan, played on GTA V’s iFruit Radio, and his track “Gettin’ Money” showed up in the GTA Online Cayo Perico update.

So the jump from soundtrack contributor to station host feels like a natural step up. Fans who first heard him while driving around Los Santos now get to hear him talking between the records.
The company he’s keeping says a lot about how Rockstar is approaching the soundtrack. Burna Boy joins a host lineup that includes Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen and Swedish pop star Robyn.
The list gets wilder from there. Miami rap pair Trick Daddy and Trina are hosting, and so are Slayer’s Kerry King and Tom Araya, which means players could flip from thrash metal to amapiano in a couple of button presses.
For Afrobeats, the placement sits alongside some of the biggest names in Latin music, pop, country and rap.
A dedicated African music station in one of the most anticipated games in years puts the genre in front of an audience that spans every corner of the planet.

There’s another way to read it, too. Rockstar’s radio stations have always been about building a believable world, and a city modelled on Miami without African sounds in the mix would feel incomplete to plenty of listeners.
Burna Boy’s career has been heading toward this kind of reach for a while. He won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album with “Twice as Tall,” and he’s spent the years since playing major stages far beyond Nigeria.
Developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to land on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.
Until then, fans are left guessing which tracks Burna and Palms Trax have lined up, and how much of his personality makes it onto the airwaves.
