DancehallMag is the leading independent publication covering Dancehall and Reggae music, the artists, and culture since 2019.

The first voice you hear on Ronaldinho’s debut album isn’t his. It belongs to Sean Paul, who opens Camisa 10 with a track called Lead, and the Brazilian football great couldn’t sound happier about it.

Ronaldinho has launched Tu Música, a global music brand and record label based in Miami. He’s running it alongside his brother and longtime manager Roberto de Assis, plus producers Allan Jesus and Roni Maltz Bin.

The label says its early focus is Latin America, but the first release casts a much wider net. Camisa 10, Portuguese for “the number 10 shirt,” dropped on June 9, 2026, just before the FIFA World Cup.

It pulls together more than 40 artistes from 18 countries and territories, covering dancehall, reggaeton, Afrobeats, música mexicana, pop and urban music.

The guest list is stacked. Pitbull, Jonas Blue, Justin Quiles, Luis R. Conriquez, Lenny Tavárez and Juan Magán all turn up on the project.

Lead pairs Sean Paul with Banx & Ranx, the Montreal duo who have shaped a lot of his recent sound. They worked on his Grammy nominated album Scorcha and on Crick Neck, made for the Usain Bolt documentary I Am Bolt.

Handing the opening slot to a Jamaican dancehall star puts Jamaica right at the centre of a project fronted by a Brazilian football star.

“Ronaldinho is a legend, and I feel truly grateful, excited, and honoured to be part of this project with him,” Sean Paul said.

For Ronaldinho, the feeling runs both ways. “I have been a fan of Sean Paul for a long time. His hits were the soundtrack to so many parties, songs people will never forget, and it was a privilege to work alongside him,” he said.

He isn’t just the money behind the operation either. Ronaldinho sings on three tracks: Perfil with Luis R Conriquez, Vamos Celebrar with Pitbull and La Verde with Tony Aguirre. He called the album “a dream come true” because “music has always been part of my life.

Anyone who followed his Atlético Mineiro years won’t be shocked. In March 2014 he appeared in the video for Vamos Beber (Joga o Copo Pro Alto), a Brazilian funk party anthem with producer Dennis DJ and sertanejo duo João Lucas & Marcelo, shot poolside at his home in Lagoa Santa outside Belo Horizonte. Back then he told interviewers he planned to become a professional artiste once his playing days were over.

That song has since passed 27 million Spotify plays and still turns up at parties across Brazil.

He followed it with Professor da Malandragem alongside Dennis DJ and Wesley Safadão, his first video as the lead star, then Solteiro de Novo with Safadão and Perdoa Amor with Grupo Revelação, which he helped write. Brazil’s music rights body Ecad lists 93 musical works and 32 recordings under his name.

The football hasn’t gone anywhere, though. In August he was presented to fans by Ravenna FC in the Italian third tier, set to come out of retirement at 46.

Next stop is Kingston. Ronaldinho is due in Jamaica this December, and local fans want to know if he’s bringing the boots, the mic or both. Full details of the visit are expected to be announced soon.
