Sean Combs apparently found a way to watch the Netflix docuseries about his own downfall from behind bars, and 50 Cent seems pretty pleased about it. That reaction came during the same TODAY appearance where Fif made it crystal clear that peace with Diddy is off the table.

Sitting down with Jenna and Sheinelle on Friday, October 9, while promoting his new movie Street Fighter, 50 was asked if he could ever be cool with Combs again. His answer took four words: “No, not with him.”

The hosts pushed a little, pointing out that 50 has squashed beefs with old rivals before. He didn’t deny it, but said those situations were a different story.

His main example was Shyne, the former Bad Boy rapper he has reconnected with. “It’s cool,” 50 said of that relationship, adding, “I have friends that like I can come visit your country.”

Then came the tablet. NBC News reported that Combs watched Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the Netflix series 50 executive produced, on a jailbroken tablet inside the facility where he’s being held.

“I didn’t expect him to have a jailbroken tablet,” 50 said, before brushing past the contraband angle entirely. “He got a chance to see it and you know look it it’s great,” he continued. “I felt like it was the best documentary that went out on them. It was fair.”

Combs sees it very differently. He has called the series “a shameful hit piece,” which puts the two men about as far apart on the project as you can get.

None of this came out of nowhere. The beef stretches back more than two decades, with 50 claiming he ghostwrote Combs’ verse on G. Dep’s “Let’s Get It” back in 2001.

A year later, 50 took his first shot on record with “U Not Like Me.” The two briefly made nice for the 2007 “I Get Money” remix, but that truce didn’t hold and they fell out again.

The trolling ramped up after Cassie’s lawsuit settlement in 2023. That December, 50 announced he was making a Combs documentary, and he sold it to Netflix in 2024 after a bidding war.

Combs was eventually convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, while he was cleared of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. He’s now serving a 50 month sentence at a low security federal facility in New Jersey.

From 50’s side, there’s no reason to soften now. He’s got a film to sell, a documentary he’s proud of, and a rival who apparently still found a way to tune in from inside.

Street Fighter hits theaters October 16. Combs is scheduled for release in January 2028, and if 50’s answer on TODAY is anything to go by, the jabs won’t be waiting that long.
