Young Thug says a public jab from Rich Homie Quan once reached his own children. In a new Instagram comment, Thug revealed his sons called to ask if he was gay after Quan said it publicly, and he insists he never fired back.
The comment was a reply to Rich Homie Nard, a longtime Quan affiliate who called Thug out on Instagram. Nard reminded him of the old “until we d.i.e” promise and pushed him to let the past go now that Quan is gone.
Quan gone and not coming back come on slime !!!!!!” Nard wrote, tagging Thug directly. He described the old rift as two young men “having yall way” and said Quan “loved u homie.
Nard’s post also had some edge to it. He pointed to people who forgave Thug “for talking about them on that phone to your girl” and asked him to give Quan “the same common courtesy,” signing off with “Nobody’s perfect!!! Players f**k up 2!!!”
Thug didn’t turn it into an argument. “My brada forever,” he replied, as caught by No Jumper. “never ever said nun bout bro even when he called me gay publicly, my sons called me and asked me was I gay cause of that nard. U no I would’ve died bout that boy, I no he know that. Players f**k up.”
That reply works on two levels. On the surface it’s plain affection for a late friend, and plenty of fans were happy to see it. Underneath, Thug made sure to point out that the hurt went both ways.
Quan died on September 5, 2024, at just 33 years old. Before the split, he and Thug were one of Atlanta’s most recognizable pairings, especially after their 2014 project Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1 with Birdman, which produced the hit “Lifestyle.”
Things reportedly soured around 2015 over conflicting solo priorities and rumors of tension behind the scenes.
Neither rapper went out of his way to fuel the drama publicly, but the two never patched things up before Quan passed.
Thug has spoken about the fallout at different points over the years, and Quan’s family has previously pushed back on his version of events.
That history gives Nard’s post extra weight, since it comes from inside Quan’s circle and reads as a direct request to drop any grudge that might be left.
It’s still unclear what set off Nard’s post in the first place. For now, the exchange lives in an Instagram comment section, with fans watching to see if Nard, Quan’s family, or Thug himself has more to say.
