Lul Tim, who was present the day his friend Lil Pab was shot and killed at a Los Angeles gas station in August 2022, has reacted publicly to the full details of the federal murder-for-hire indictment against Lil Durk, saying the operation amounted to “sloppy work” on every level.
Tim heard the federal paperwork laid out in detail for what he described as the first time, covering the alleged coordination of flights, hotel rooms, rental cars, weapons, and ski masks that prosecutors say preceded the killing. His reaction was blunt. “Damn, niggas being sloppy,” he said. “Some sloppy work.”
According to the indictment, five men were flown on one-way tickets from Chicago to San Diego the day before the murder, with the flights paid for by a credit card linked to someone associated with Durk’s circle.
A phone number prosecutors say is associated with Durk sent a text to the person booking the tickets that read, “Don’t book no flights under no names involving me.” The flights were booked anyway, using a credit card connected to him.
The paperwork further alleges that a co-defendant rented two vehicles, including a white BMW and a white Infinity fitted with fake license plates, and purchased four ski masks from a sporting goods store.
GPS data from the rental car is said to have placed him at that store at the time of the purchase. Guns, including what prosecutors describe as a machine gun, were then distributed to the alleged shooters.
On the day of the killing, two cars spent hours following a black Escalade carrying Quando Rondo, Lil Tim, and others through Los Angeles, trailing them to a marijuana dispensary and a clothing store on Melrose before making a move.
When the Escalade stopped at a gas station near the Beverly Center and Lil Pab stepped out to pump gas, three men in black ski masks emerged from the BMW and opened fire.
At least 18 rounds were discharged. Lil Pab was killed. Quando Rondo, alleged to have been the intended target, was not hit.
Tim said that hearing the full account confirmed what he had already sensed from the outside. If you just looking at it from social media, you be like Quando and them was moving sloppy for them to be able to be trailing them for this long,” he said.
He then turned his criticism toward the other side. “You got to also, they was goddamn doing sloppy work by how, like you say, how they did all that credit card stuff, flying out, all that,” he added.
“You would think with all this money you’ll be doing better shit or smarter shit, but all that shit sloppy and stupid at the end of the day.”
A grand jury returned the indictment on October 17, 2024, charging Durk and five co-defendants with murder for hire, conspiracy to commit murder for hire resulting in death, and discharge of a machine gun in furtherance of a crime of violence. Several co-defendants were arrested the following week. Durk had not yet been arrested at the time Tim spoke.
When news of the arrests broke, Tim said he did not celebrate. “I don’t wish jail on nobody,” he said. “I think that’s a horrible place.” He added that if anyone had standing to feel something about the outcome, it was Lil Pab’s family. “
His family wise, they could be happy cuz they probably could get some justice or something,” he said. “But it’s like I don’t wish jail on nobody though.”
