Dancehall star Chronic Law has been released from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody after spending more than two months detained in the United States.

The Jamaican deejay, whose real name is Ackeme Jermaine Campbell, resurfaced online on Thursday (March 26) with an Instagram post captioned “God Bless,” and in a livestream while riding in a car.

He had been in custody since January 12 and was officially listed at the Florida Soft Side South facility known as ‘Aligator Alacatraz’ on January 15. Throughout the detention, information from his camp remained sparse, fueling weeks of speculation among fans and in dancehall circles.

The reason for the dentention is unclear, but public records show Chronic Law was arrested in Turner County, Georgia, in November 2025 on several traffic-related charges. Those included improper or erratic lane changes, reckless driving, speeding in excess of the posted limit, and attempting to elude a police officer.

A source had previously downplayed the matter, saying the case was not as serious as it was being portrayed online and stressing that there were no gun charges.

He received bail on the traffic charges, and in the days before his detention, the 32-year-old appeared to be moving freely in Florida.
